Does anyone here go to a CUNY college? Can you give me a short review of your experience there?

Hunter. It's shit just like every other college on the planet, exploit it for what you can and get out

laguardia: its 13th grade.

>cunny university

I go to York, which is probably the absolute worst CUNY school. The population is like 70% women, and there's an abnormal amount of Muslim people. The facilities are terrible because its the least funded CUNY school in the system. Being White in that college is like going to Iran or Africa, its bizarre.

Pros:
>It's free.
>The science programs are legitimately alright.
>It's right next to a train station which makes commuting easy.
>There are genuinely great professors, but you gotta know where to look.
>A lot of the courses uses several years old textbooks so its easier to find deals, but the library lets you straight up copy textbook stuff.
>You'll feel smart next to all the dumbass brown people and immigrants.
>If you're into cute brown girls, its a haven.

Cons:
>Facilities are pure garbage.
>Most of the professors are pretty shit.
>Socializing pretty much nonexistent since its a commuter college.
>The courses that don't use textbooks use mandatory online homework that there's no way to get out of.
>It's in a bad neighborhood.
>The degrees that aren't Bio/Chem/Nursing/Pre-med get the shaft.
>Full on SJW as fuck.

I'm in my third year as a Math major and man, we get the shaft so hard. We're always in cramped tiny classrooms and the professors are on autopilot. Some professors are legit good though.

Would I suggest it? If you live near it, and just want a degree, you can't really beat free. Having no debt is pretty damn good even if the experience is subpar. But if you can go anywhere you want without money being an issue, don't even bother.

Queensborough.
>Theres tons of koreans on the buses coming in but they automatically disappear as soon as it arrives. Seriously, I wonder where they all go.
>class quality depends on your professor
>cafeteria food is shit
>halal food trucks outside sell tasty hot meals for $6
>gym is included in your tuition cost, take advantage of it
>student parkings cheap but can be tricky to get a spot from 9/10 to 2
>nothing to do around here because the campus is smack dab in the middle of suburbia

I go to Brooklyn College, and my experience is pretty similar to 's. Almost exactly the same pros and cons and all. The biggest selling point for CUNYs is the price. You're not going to get the typical college experience here.

I went there for one semester before I went to Hunter.

anyone drop out of cuny?

I've considered it because the authentic college experience is tempting but so is no debt so I'm toughing it out.

What the fuck are you doing here, I know who you are opossum user

Brooklyn College would York a run for its money. Its gone really down hill, its incredibly shit.

I've heard city tech is pretty bad but I've never been there myself.

Which CUNY school is the best one?

>opossum user
what? You've got me mistaken.

Depends what you're majoring in. I don't know about the others, but I know Baruch is the best for business for example. But if you're talking just in general, then I guess CCNY.

Wait I'm fucking stupid. I forgot I posted a pic of an opossum, jesus fuck I'm dumb.

and who exactly are you?

not him but I recently graduated and never heard of it

I go to Lehman. Class wise it's good; a large variety. Also lots of events and job opportunities. The other students aren't there to make friends which will leave you very lonely. Even if you join a club it varies. The non teaching staff suck major ass.

It varies, each college has its strengths for specific degrees.

Baruch is generally considered one of the better ones, especially for business. This is probably the best CUNY in the state.

Hunter, Queens, and Brooklyn are considered alright for general degrees.

I've heard CCNY is okay, but second tier compared to the aforementioned four.

Staten Island are Lehman are considered mediocre.

Medgar Evers and York are negro schools with a touch of Indian and Muslim. Medgar Evers is the easiest CUNY to get into AFAIK, generally for high school dropouts and old people.

City Tech has a reputation for being completely garbage and is probably the legit worst CUNY in the state.

The community colleges are the bottom of the barrel.

I haven't heard shit about CUNY Pro and Macaulay.

For what purpose?

Gee whiz what a small world. I "go" to SPS.
