famines still exist and you know back then most famines were fucking man made natural disasters. catastrophic events still happen people are just less stupid about building settlements on or near active volcanoes. Slavery still exists there are estimated to be more slaves now than past history combined. You know back then a person was considered useful people would go out of there way to usually keep their own people alive. There are more diseases and stuff like that now and they're more virulent. Money is devalued it doesn't buy what it use to and the average person has less of it, did they have to go buy health insurance too instead of paying their rent or buying groceries? They owned land to grow food on by all accounts that's worth more than millions of people combined are even worth anymore. It doesn't seem like anything is ever going to get better just more costly wars, the rich get richer the poor get poorer, rich people don't go fight in wars. If your life starts bad, socio-economic mobility is severely limited most new millionaires are just athletes and they go broke before they retire and they retire within a decade of playing. Most people that are alive now are not even going to come close to making a million dollars over the entire course of their life if you counted every penny they made and spent. Scientists and stuff figured out the amount of money for a person to be happy is about a million dollars, it's funny because most people are probably never even going to come close to being happy. You can already tell if someone is going to have a bad life just from their parents socioeconomic status when they're born. They're not going to win the lottery they'll just have some asshole to tell them to eat whatever they could afford on a shoestring budget

There are times that i feel what could have been since we are above average in looks and not sickly. I also have a good job too. But still the past haunts me. Having a bad father and mother figure broke me. It doesn't help that friends betrayed me several times before.

Their kid got cancer as a toddler. they have to go through all this pain and treatment to have a chance to grow up. fuck that. I don't want to bring someone into the world and have shit like that happen to them.
