Emulators have shown themselves to run games at a high fidelity than consoles can. Yes, they take very long to develop but in that meantime we have far more games to play with. Also games do not have an expiration date, a game simply being old or "ancient history" as you put it does not invalidate the game.

Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo are charging you for to play online while the servers for those games will be hosted by the companies that made those games (basically any third party game). That money goes solely into said console manufacturer's pocket. They charge it because they can get away with it.

I would rather pay for one service than a bunch of services from EA, Ubisoft and Rockstar.

I have a bone and I spend all of my free time playing it. Most multiplats are good but I'm kinda old (35) for feeling truly hyped for a game. I'm playing Injustice 2 now. It got me so excited, I love every minute of it, despite I'm trash. It is like I'm a kid again. Even bought crystals because I don't have much time but I have money to speed up the upgrade process.
