Bumble is nice because girls have to send the first message. Unfortuntely that makes them even pickier. Dating apps simply don't work if you're average or ugly. There's no reason for a women to choose you when she can window shop until she finds Chad.

Tinder is for Chads only, average guy has a much better chance of scoring a good looking girl in reality than on online dating web-sites.

They rank your elo score and show you women in your elo range. Since most women swipe left, it artificially lowers your score. Resetting doesn't work because Tinder uses data (physical phone ID, wifi, etc) to tie you to a specific account or score. OP here, this happened to me. I used to get a lot more matches now 0.

I just got on Bumble. After 2 days I got 1 message.
according to some research I did women message only about 25% of the men they match with.

I'll download it again then. The only thing I liked about bumble more than tinder is they show you how many people that liked you and blur the icon of the person. Except you can totally tell who matched with you based on the blur when you come across their profile.

No one really knows how elo is scored other than tinder. But I think swiping left only has a certain effect. Probably what counts a lot is how many high ranking people swipe left on you and given you dont have a profile set up probably its low.

My friend works for Tinder, I know how the MMR works. It's a lot simpler than you'd imagine, though it's pretty ruthless.
Fun fact: No one knows their exact MMR, not even at Tinder. Looking it up will get you fired immediately.

How does it work

Every time you swipe right on someone you swiped left on you, your rating goes down. Every time you swipe left on someone who swiped right on you, your rating goes up. Getting matches is neutral, but girls messaging guys first makes the guy's MMR go up. That's it.
That's why if you swipe right on everyone every time, your chances of getting a decent match go way down. Be picky and your MMR should theoretically go back up from what I understand.

That's not true. You can definitely see people who have swiped left on you.

If you're looking for just hookups, nothing could beat OKCupid! You could actually see if their down to hookup before even messaging them. All you have to do is ask if they're down to hookup, they could either 1) Say yes 2) say no 3) or block you. Either way just move on to the next. Only works if you're at least somewhat attractive though
