What is your fixated obsession, fellow autists?
For me, it is zoos and everything about them. I have loved animals ever since I left the womb.

military equipment
i can spend literally hours reading about missiles and military aircraft
I also like animals though.
OP have you been to a zoo with free-roaming peacocks? They're really neat.
Well, I have a lot of obsessions, but along this vein I'd have to say stuffed animals. I resist buying them anymore nowadays, since I have way too many, like multiple storage bins full of them. They're just so soft, and cute, and comforting.
PERFECT COUPLE ^^^^^
I have been to two zoos with free roaming peacocks. I think they would be essential in my own zoo. I really feel I was born JUST to design and build a zoo and I have 0 problems with it.
clouds.
for some reason, they're fascinating to me and i could spend hours looking at them.
Genetic technologies (GMOS, stem cells, etc.)
I did once want to write a fantasy about nomadic civilizations that live on clouds, but I really am not that creative.
Cities with giant skyscrapers everywhere. And subways. I really like Tokyo and NYC.
are you okay??
beautiful picture btw animals are so lovely and cool one of my favourites are cows!!
>are you okay??
Why do you ask?
Do you live in a city with lots of skyscrapers or do you live in a place with none?
My city has a small cbd. Metro pop is only like 600k

Classical music and musicology.
what in your opinion is the world's best zoo, OP?
You know zoos are filled with caged animals who will never be happy and free in the wild, right?
I enjoy rescue zoos. They are a good place for learning and compassion. I will never support a zoo that doesn't exclusively deal with animals that need human support. Private zoos that prioritize profit are the epitome of disgusting.
My local zoo is very nice and one day I wish I could take someone there.
How do you find out if it's private or rescue
I don't know if there's a simple way to find out. I just do some quick research before I visit any ones that are new to me.
Every zoo fails and succeeds at different things, if not fail entirely. Hopefully mine will be perfect.
I am tasking myself with studying animals in the wild to best learn how to keep them satiated in captivity. I have read a great deal, but would like to observe the animals in their natural habitat. That is my next step.
In the wild they have to constantly hunt and fight for survival. Zoos are easy mode.
I wish I was fixated on something enough. That's my problem; I drift from thing to thing, only scratching the surface.
I'm more obsessive than I am autistic, and I mostly obsess over things I regret, most of which are interactions with other people-- I regret other things, they just don't stick with me as much usually
other than that I've had passing obsessions like sci-fi and fantasy and video games and languages and math, they've all left a mark-- for the better I think
Storyboarding. I doubt I'm very good at it either, but I think I might have done okay as a scene director.
I am completely obsessed with tabletop games. Fortunately, pouring a lot of thought, time and effort into a hobby usually is appreciated by the other people involved. Pic related, a climate map that I made for a game I'm running.
