Has anyone here actually healed completly from an AC injury? I fucked up my AC last year doing bench alone. Apperently my doctor claims that everything is okay with the sceleton. But i have extra fluid wich makes it sensitive.
I have tried resting for months, training like normal. And each doctor tells me to do different rehab shit. So far nothing works and i really wanna try surgery. Even tough every doctor would like more physiotherapy. But it's been over a year. And lifting my cellphone hurts
whats with people and these shoulder widths? they are so unattractive.

Idonno. It's just the first picture i found on Google
Nicholas Robinson
that one popular youtube personality that teaches various lifts had something similar I believe. that athlean-x guy.

I'm with ya my anonymous brother. Doc says that mine is just irritated, not separated. Not really convinced, but I'm going for physical therapy on Thurs. I haven't done upper body in two weeks. This is the real gainz goblin! (shoo, shoo!)
Christopher Robinson
Did you have experience yourself? Keep in mind that i have tried alot of different things and nothing works so far
Justin Ross
I had a torn labrum.
During the surgery my collar bone end was completely crumbled and worn down. He cut the end off and re-attached the ligament.
Worked out fine.

Yours also hurt when reaching up or crossing your body? Like when you throw a hook? Don't trust all the doctors bro. They told me i would be fine a long time ago. Even miss diagnosed me with biceps tendonitis. If your like me you will lose all your gains and be out for over a year...

Are you 100% now. Can you try and push a new pr in overhead or bench? Or punch a bag? Im thinking surgery is the way to go
Charles Martinez
Before the surgery I benched 255. My last PR was 300.
Overhead is fineish, It is not a great lift for me. My highest is maybe 160. if I flare my elbows out too much it hurts.
Adrian Richardson
Thats nice to hear for once. I've heard so many stories of people only becoming about 80% back to normal at best
Jeremiah Peterson
When I was 19 my shoulder crunched. Never got it looked at and let it heal. Neatly 10 years later I Can't go over 50kg ohp and it fatigues quicker when boxing.
Isaiah Peterson
My recommendation is go to a good sports ortho surgeon.
Spend the extra money on a good one.

I have broken a fuck load of bones / injuries (healing from a broken rib right now and a torn ligament in my hand).
Get that shit looked at, I fucked around until I couldn't pick my arm over my head. Grabbing a glass out of the cabinet was impossible. Don't fuck around. Get it looked at by an expert.

I injured my right AC this July in a bike crash, my numbers went down pretty significantly once I returned to doing my standard workouts (for 3-4 weeks after I began exercising again I did a custom routine to hit most muscle groups while avoiding aggravating my shoulder): my working sets for OHP and bench went from 195 and 135 to 135 and 95, respectively, as of now I'm still on linear progression and at 180 and 135 for each; the only shoulder problem I have now is occasional soreness good luck with recovery OP
Evan Morgan
just noticed OHP and bench are reversed
Jordan Gonzalez
Separated mine 5 years ago or so. No pain or limitations, it just looks weird when I do heavy shrugs.
Lincoln Hill
Thanks bro's I think I'm gonna hope for surgery and take it from there
Jayden Green
Sounds about right. As an example, I really feel it holding the steering wheel in my left hand (injured side) and making a right turn.

AC joint inflammation fucked up bench for over 1.5 years. I worked around it with other pressing movements. I rep 305 for 5 now but that was such a huge set back
Anthony King
What fixed it?
Luis Wilson
Is surgery really the only way to fix this? I coincidentally got this same injury when I crashed while mountain biking this summer. I figured I could just take it easy and it would heal up since I'm young and healthy but 3 months later I've still got pain when I try to bench press. Not much pain on OHP though so I just do that instead of bench. Was going to go to a physiotherapist this weekend.
