I haven’t seen th video recently but if I remember right it’s the rotation. Instead of neutral or having the pinkie be the highest finger during the exercise he turns his hand so his index finger is highest during the lift to align everything in a safer way.

One thing that kills me, with how much he talks about form, is when people crane their necks to finish a lift like this. You're clearly activating and straining the wrong muscles if your head moves to make it "easier", and I can't imagine that is very safe for your rhomboids or spinal erectors around your neck when weight is in your scapula like that.
