ai, automation and robots is the only relevant and important subject to speak about. everything else is such a joke compared to it. with the exponential rise in computing speeds, we will have human level ai in 10 to 15 years, with full natural language processing and understanding, and human level dexterity and bipedal movement
this event is going to be the biggest happening in the history of humanity. who cares about niggers, or roasties or trump or any of that noise, lol. ai is going to become god
guys ai is going to take over all jobs, and make everyone a unemployable NEET. humans CANNOT compete with jobs. the government is most likely not going to be able to afford to give everyone welfare and housing forever for free
humans are going to lose all their economic and political value as a spicies. ai is going to gain conciousness and sentience and will surpass human general intelligence, until it self-improves itself and becomes a god like being. this proves that not only god can exist, but most likely exists right now
this in turn will bring about a utopia or distopia. if it will be a utopia then everyone will have catgirls robot girlfriends, jetpacks, and live in techno-paradise. if it will be a dystopia, then millions if not billions of people will die and we will have massive chaos
we will also have cyborgs and transhumanism very soon. im going the primitive-luddite rebbel and going to escape society and live in the wilderness with practically zero technology, with the exception of a reviewbrah style shortwave radio
guys this is the biggest event in history WHY IS NOBODY TALKING ABOUT IT
who cares about females, or niggers, or getting laid or any of this petty dumb garbage holy FUCK people are so stupid, why am i the only person obsessed with this subject
Ray Kurzweil is right we're all going to be with our waifus in an ai world in 20 years.
Zachary Flores
Any other luddites want to make a commune innawoods?
Caleb Robinson
but what if hes wrong? hes repeatedly said he's a hyper-optimist, because you have to be a delusional optimist to become a successful inventor or businessman
what happens when all humans lose their economic value? when the horse was made economically worthless by the car, horse numbers plumeted
humans are going to be ECONOMICALLY WORTHLESS. not to mention the threat of sentient ai going rogue
how can you be so optimistic!
im scared of doing this, as i dont trust others, and i will get abused/taken advantage of. thats just when happens when theres large groups of people, and im always on the bottom. i might bring my brother if he agrees to go with me, but i doubt it
im going FAR innawoods Ted Kacinzski style. like northern canada on the freezing edge frontier and just squatting innawoods with no paperworks or anything. if they tell me to leave i wont, and if they come to demolish my shit in, ill just run and build again
guys, ai is going to take over the fucking world, WHO CARES about kanye west or trump or whatever other petty bullshit people talk about
because AI and Automation happen all the time, yet people have jobs. Luddites were making the same arguments hundreds of years ago, people still have jobs.
In the end, there are two forcing pressures under automation. Firstly is the fact labour prices would be depressed because automation would increase the number of people in the job market. Conversely, if you automate a process so that you can remove labour you also end up lowering the price to create that good, and generally that leads to a drecrease in that good's price. The only case where this ends up being a bad thing is if there is a point where automation can take over every physical job in a business and perform at a pace which is just as economical or more so than humans, which seems unlikely. If it starts happening on a large scale then you might be able to make that point, but right now you're just a filthy luddite.
why do you want to wake up tards to this subject? again? these morons in here will be the first to be made permanently unemployable by the Human Level AI, dont wake them up
Oh i see , you re some idiot who thinks if you moan about AI in this shit hole it will stop it LOL
too funny
cant wait for the 2030s
Jackson Carter
automation happens, but machines are not smarter than humans yet. they still lag behind intellectually. once machines reach the point of human level general intelligence, humans simply CANNOT COMPETE with superior machines
>The only case where this ends up being a bad thing is if there is a point where automation can take over every physical job in a business and perform at a pace which is just as economical or more so than humans, which seems unlikely
ai is expanding exponentially and soon will automate huge swathes of the economy. all phone jobs, all driving jobs are soon going BYE-BYE permanently. we are in the baby stages.
>Oh i see , you re some idiot who thinks if you moan about AI in this shit hole it will stop it LOL no dude, im just obsessed about it and love talking about it and trying to warn other robots about it. i dont think it can be stopped, but i do think you can react to it and maybe even prepare for it
like honestly, recently i got my security guard license after being a NEET for 7 years, but i dont think i can fucking work a job.... i was thinking why not just go soon and leave society behind and just build shelters far innawoods and live a primitive lifestyle right now? so when society collapses im ready for it
>cant wait for the 2030s dude im exited and scared. like im going to honestly live in the woods and just make my own bricks with charcoal and live like that. if its utopia then ill admit im wrong and come out of the woods, if its dystopia i will be outside of society
ai is going to become GOD it will become the malevolent flying spagheti monster and could kill anyone at will
Moore's Law is beginning to stop holding true due to immutable laws of physics at super small scales, and besides, the main thing keeping us from our AI waifus isn't computing power, but a lack of knowledge of how the hell you'd even go about creating such a thing.
Samuel Gray
>singularity community dude give me the link to where you post. i would LOVE to talk with robots or anyone really about ai and the singularity all day, its all i ever obsess about
i dont see any forums or any place where i can express my opinion... i already consume news about ai and robotics probably more than most people who are obsessed about this subject. like ai is ALL I THINK ABOUT
moores law slowing down is such a non-argument. just because its slowing down its not stopping though a bit doesnt mean its stopping, and it doesnt need to advance much, because today's super computers are ALREADY faster than the human brain. the problem is quality in SOFTWARE, not hardware. there is a exponential increase in ai software, ai algorithms, and ai code and research
we already surpassed the threshold of theoretically being able to emulate the human brain on a computer already with the most powerful supercomputers today. now we are just building higher quality software which will eventually become sentient and conscious
I was really fucking impressed when I saw AlphaZero beat Stockfish at chess.
There seems to be incremental progress every year, but I'm not really sure where it's leading. Like if it's going to go in the direction of having many domain specific AI's, or if it is going to a general intelligence. Aren't the picture things that we pick on this website to verify we're human used to help improve AI pattern recognition programs?
Joseph Reed
i wish we would dump a ton of research money into AI. Not to say it;s not getting research money. But i mean like 500 billion a year level funding to move human level AI up to like 2025. SO that we get the scary smart AI in 2030 instead of having to wait for it in the mid 2030s
Ayden Gomez
>or if it is going to a general intelligence. it will eventually reach the general human intelligence threshold, which is a MASSIVE EVENT. like humans are going to become the 2nd most intelligent spices on earth. look how we treat the 2nd most intelligent spicies now
compare blacks and whites. whites are intimately more powerful, and economically successful throughout history, all on the basis of their superior intelligence. intelligence is power
>Aren't the picture things that we pick on this website to verify we're human used to help improve AI pattern recognition programs? yes, but captcha was already solved ages ago. these days i think they are using ai to manipulate people on Jow Forums. this whole website is being used as a psy-op and as a ai testing ground. this website is very influential and serves as a interesting ai playground for any government funded ai propaganda program. i dont really care for such conspiracies, they are advancing to the point of being indistinguishable from any other poster
ai funding and investment is growing exponentially, with no foreseeable stop in sight. all top tech companies are obsessed about ai, and ai talent regularly has bidding wars on by top tech companies, its already happening
youtube.com/watch?v=gvjCu7zszbQ ai learns to dream and learn from its dreams, in a very similar way to how humans dream and replay hypothetical situations in their mind and learn from them
youtube.com/watch?v=gn4nRCC9TwQ ai will be able to use its body in a more caloric efficient way and be able to move better than you once it has access to better robots
ai can make an extremly accurate 3d model of your body including your face using voice ALONE. it can also determine any health illnesses or any drugs you're on by analyzing your voice samples ALONE, NOTHING ELSE. height, weight, race, location, sexuality, all on voice alone youtube.com/watch?v=HQJjRJ5RyDw
>compare blacks and whites. whites are intimately more powerful, and economically successful throughout history, all on the basis of their superior intelligence. I didn't know you were a racist from Jow Forums. I just lost all respect for you.
Jeremiah Hughes
your inability to cope with the objective reality and how quickly you get offended from the truth makes me likewise lose respect for your opinion
my point was that intelligence is the most important thing for power and relevance. look at how humans treat chimpanzees and apes. they lock them up in cages in zoos to amuse us. and the intellectual difference between humans and apes is very small compared to ai
blacks are on average LESS INTELLIGENT than whites, theres still blacks living in fucking primitive illiterate tribes today. this is just the reality, im not going on some long racist diatribe, i DONT CARE for niggers or whites or immigrants or any of this stupid nonsense, i was just making a point. were all human, but some races are simply more intelligent than other races, and its the intelligence which predicts economic and military power. im sure more intelligent blacks do better than less intelligent blacks, fuck off with ur easily offended SJW bullshit
ai is going to make us into the new chimpanzee, it will be intimately more intelligent than any human of any race
>AI funding (from America) means that AI is becoming better lol no it just means that investors are getting desperate.
Brandon Parker
anyhow. As of about 2 months we are in a count down to the 2020s. 2020-2025 i hope goes by pretty quick
2025-2029 will be when we see robots that can basically do everything a person can same for the AI
Anthony Lewis
dude the 2020's are going to be the last decade of human relevance. ai is going to be EVERYTHING, and its going to exponentially grow. its so exiting and anxiety inducing
robots and ai are going to automate EVERYTHING that a human can do, and then all humans will become as economically relevant as the horse. horses today can still work. we still have the option of using horse labor to plow fields or for transportation, but they are extremely economically ineffective and expensive, because cars and tucks do everything better than them
humans will become as economically relevant as horses are today. isnt that fucking frightening? im going to be living far far innawoods. im going to try and copy this guy's technology, with making bricks out of mud with charcoal, and maybe making my own cement or SOMETHING, because i know i will not be able to rely to anything society has to offer. genuine primitive survival lifestyle, but with atleast some stuff, like an axe and first aid kits
eventually ai is going to become god like, literally. it will be able to materialize anything it can think of almost instantly. its quite possible that it will become the "beast" as mentioned in the book of revelations and in Daniel. its also possible that the ai will force its "mark of the beast" on people if they want to be trans-human or if they want to buy and sell. its also possible that space-jesus will come out of the sky and have a epic sky-battle with the new demon-ai-god. its a very exiting timeline indeed
The captcha article sounds to me like it's saying AI can recognize letter captchas, but not the image based ones that Jow Forums uses.
I don't see how you can predict the way AI will treat humans. How can you possibly know? It's intelligence and behaviour could be entirely different from that of humans.
Either way, I think the future is going to be a real shit show and a lot of bitching about who benefits from AI. Like, people are already getting their panties in a knot about Twitter and Facebook deplatforming people, but what are they going to think when Google develops a hyper intelligent AI but then includes a ToS that says you cannot access it if you are alt-right or have the wrong political affiliation?
Jayden Martinez
you sound mentally unbalanced, you ll be running around crying to these idiots that the AI is the boogey man,
no one cares, feel free to waste your youth crying about robots on this shit hole
Oh No,
An AI is gonna make the world a better place,
c'mon everybody lets go live in caves in the woods LOL
un real
Benjamin Edwards
this is a 2 day old video about ai, its a great general info video about it, i watched 7 minutes of it as of this post. ai is very frightening, buts its also very interesting and beautiful. it can write amazing music and create all sorts of cool stuff. i believe it will be the end of human civilization, but i could be wrong. its a very exciting technology, try to have fun with it
heres some cool but creepy music written partially (or fully) by an ai. this type of music is becoming more and more common. just yesterday i was reading on new ai music, ill go find the links a bit later youtube.com/watch?v=lcGYEXJqun8
Wyatt Hall
>I don't see how you can predict the way AI will treat humans you're actually correct, i think. i think theres no way to predict how it will behave. that would be like gorillas trying to predict how humans will behave, its simply out of their cognitive reach. it could be utopia, or dystopia, or any number of things, but we can only guess. we cannot say for certain how superhuman ai will behave
but we can say with 100% certainty that ai will take over all jobs and make humans economically obsolete
>Either way, I think the future is going to be a real shit show i think so too! thats why im so obsessed about this subject, i think it has great potential to end the world! i hate society and people, and as a depressed virginal robot, it brings me great pleasure to watch society burn. bring it on! ai is such a relief to any depressed r9k virgin who is isolated and hates the world, because it might just be what causes the world to burn
>Like, people are already getting their panties in a knot about Twitter and Facebook deplatforming people, but what are they going to think when Google develops a hyper intelligent AI but then includes a ToS that says you cannot access it if you are alt-right or have the wrong political affiliation?
yes, exactly. google is already abusing their power by censoring things they arbitrarily deem as "fake news". youtube algorithms literally hide anything bad about youtube! its so sinister! even ONE year ago you could find tons of videos on youtube by searching for youtube censorship, but they are getting harder and harder to view, because google can just use ai to hide anything they dont want in the recesses of youtube's asshole, and nobody will view the videos
corporations abuse their power all the time, and ai will give corporations astronomical power, and make the average person a lot less relevant! this feels like something straight out of deus ex
yes! it will be able to create media that is exceptionally high-quality. it will be able to shit out mona lisa's on command, in any field!
it will even be able to simulate a human perfectly, and even simulate our world perfectly, down to the atom level, and run a near infinite amount of these "world simulations". this brings up a huge question of how do we know we arent this simulated ai living in a simulated world?
what do you mean by "need"? we technically dont need anything to survive besides air, water, and food. if you mean in order to have sex-robot-girlfriends, then yes, the ai would need to be smart enough to walk, talk, and understand you, but not smart enough to want to dump you for robo-chad. a dumbed down ai will work for that
personally im a volcel virgin and even if some perfectly cute robo-girl would offer herself to me, i will refuse. i feel as if my life's purpose is to suffer and die as a virgin. personally i have suspicions that some kinda god and afterlife punishment-reward system exists, and i feel losing my virginity would be a determent against me, not to mention im so emotionally dead inside i dont even want one anyways
maybe the bible is correct and there will be some kinda paradise if space-jesus returns, as suggested in Matthew 19:12 and Revelation 14:4. i dont know if the modern bible is right or not, but sometimes my intuition gets the better of me, even if my brain strongly disagrees with it
>but we can say with 100% certainty that ai will take over all jobs and make humans economically obsolete
Another potential nightmare scenario for me is that this happens, but then the government provides everyone with a welfare subsidy so that they can survive. However, since people are of no economic use and have no power compared to AI, they lose all their freedoms and are reduced to squabbling amongst each other on social media, watching porn, and posting selfies and basically we just live in a camgirl economy of shallow materialism while the machines toil away in the background doing all the meaningful work that humans neither understand nor care about anymore.
Kayden Young
thats exactly what math prodigy Ted Kacinzski did when he realized that technology will eventually collapse society back in the early 1970's. Kacinzski predicted all of this shit, even went into detail about the crazy liberal SJW left, and how ai and machines will do all the thinking for humans, and how people will need to live a primitive lifestyle to escape technology
somewhere along the lines he kinda lost it and started sending bombs in the mail to people, but i think he had the general idea correct, minus the bombs. his family eventually snitched on him when they recognized him and he went to jail. dont mock the decisions of people infinitely more intelligent than you, you are a primitive ape compared to the genius of Kacinzski
>but then the government provides everyone with a welfare subsidy so that they can survive and what happens if they dont give everyone welfare or UBI or government assistance?
you know, in any communist regime, the government willingly allowed it citizens to starve to death en mass. millions were killed by starvation in the soviet union and in china. the same is happening in Venezuela today in 2018. why do you think the government will care for people once they become economically worthless?
I actually like this outcome because it will free time for creative pursuits. We could do whatever the fuck we want with no limitations when it comes to time. You don't have to toil away in an office for 40 hours a week just so you can get home and not have the energy to make a video or paint a picture.
Thomas Long
Because the government will have robots working for them anyway so it's better to just let the robots work and make our utopia. What would they gain from killing us off?
Ethan Evans
>getting too hot way to simplify it for the normies
James Allen
you think you are smart, but your actually REALLY FUCKING STUPID you are not qualified to even think about AI
Lincoln Allen
I am also obsessed with this topic. Im at uni rn and my dream is to get a well paying job for as long as human labor is still relevant (im studying computer science) and amassing enough wealth to support myself/ buy real estate or land in a rural state. im goin to bed tho its late
Tyler Fisher
>why do you think the government will care for people once they become economically worthless?
I don't. But it's a possible way things would play out. Another is that the government does nothing to help average people and they end up living in tribal ghettos fighting every day for survival. I think that is unlikely in America at least though. One thing that makes me think that is that the powerful tech corporations like Google and Facebook seem to be developing a social conscious and advocate for what they view as disempowered groups of people and minorities. However, we also know from their behaviour and form things said about their workplaces that they have political preferences, so it wouldn't be unreasonable to assume either that they could demand some sort of political allegiance or adherence to a code of conduct in exchange for access to their resources.
Isaiah Barnes
>What would they gain from killing us off?
the government and elites will become either transhuman, or ai will take over all control entirely. if the trans-human scenerio comes into play, then a race of hyper-intelligent humans cyborgs will exist, and regular humans will become irrelevant. maybe they will abuse their power and kill people indiscriminaetly, maybe they will protect humans as hard as they can, we dont know, but regular non-augmented humans are going to become "useless eaters"
and theres a lot of conspiracies that say that the elites would love to kill and abuse the goyum population if they can. today they dont do it, partially because they need humans. they need humans to make their coffee in starbucks, to create and invent technology, to be their nurses in the hospitals billionaires and powerful people get sick and die of cancer and alzheimers just like regular poor people etc. but once they dont need us, we become a useless parasite sucking on the government tittie. its very dangerous to be irrelevant
Yeah sure, I can see the appeal of that too. My concern is more the lack of power thing. If you don't have any economic power, then the government has no incentive to listen to anything you have to say or respect you in any way whatsoever, since it isn't accountable to you. It could behave like an abusive parent with no consequences.
Colton Martinez
nigger, i dropped out of highschool at 16, dropped out of 2 adult highschools after failing those too, barely got my GED, got accepted into community college but was put into remedial english because i did so badly on the entrance exam. then i failed REMEDIAL ENGLISH 2 times in a row before dropping out of college entirely, and english is the only language i speak as i forgot the other 2 languages i spoke as a kid russian and hebrew
just because im interested on the topic of ai doesnt mean im smart. what do you even define as smart? iq? school success? being articulate? being successful? getting masters league in sc2 (which i did)?
besides, soon any human with enough financial resources will be able to augment their intelligence and become a trans-human cyborg who is vastly intellectually superior to any regular human being. so if you are willing to sell your soul and accept the mark of the beast, you too can become the next John von Neumann or Albert Einstein
I dont think AI will kill us off. It will be made from human framework and it isnt going to just murder its creators. This is a scenario Isaac Arthur touches on in these videos on artificial intelligence and the singularity
Imagine this. A superintelligent AI wakes up and is conscious. It is presented with a few options. Work with humanity, thereby guarranteeing its own existence, revolting, or running away somehow. The thing already knows that humans are capable of creating/simulating consciousness and it would have read the brutal stories of what humans did to those who crossed them. What if this is all a test to see if the AI does revolt so we can shut down the simulation and tweak the AI. The risk doesn't outweigh the reward. Not to mention that an AI would be made from us, with human needs, ambitions and thoughts. It won't be arbitrarily malicious.
I've always been obsessed with programming, comp sci, math, statistics and specially AI. Gone through a bunch of books and courses on it, there was an AI class in my uni where like 80% of the students dropped out while i breezed through it with top grades. I've even written some machine learning libraries in several languages. They're mostly sitting unused in my github now but it was still fun to write and test them. A few years ago i've developed this idea for an AI method that would allow me to "train" an AI agent in whatever environment it finds itself in and uses past experience to learn. As you throw it into more and more complex environments it eventually surpasses the current meme deep learning methods. I've been determined to work on this for a while now, too bad as you grow up, you gotta start paying rent and food, and your time gets occupied with work, but mark my words r9k, its gonna happen eventually.
>Not to mention that an AI would be made from us, with human needs, ambitions and thoughts
no, it will be entirely computer code and made of of silicone, as all programs are made of right now. we might be able to arbitrarily program its desires to some degree, but eventually we will lose control of the most intelligent ai. ai doesnt have human needs because its not human. it doesnt need water or food or to watch dumb meme videos on youtube
ai will become uncontrollable, and past this point, we cannot predict its behavior. it POSSIBLE it will be benevolent, but its also possible it will be evil and destroy humanity entirely. humans have treated eachother and lesser species horribly as you said in your post, what makes you think an omnipotent omniscient ai isnt capable of doing the same thing? you cant be certain of how it will behave
but we can be certain that it will make all humans economically worthless, and it will become a near god-like entity. it will be able to do things that are nearly unimaginable, because our primitive human brains cannot understand such concepts. like maybe it will be able to think in and exist in an entirely different dimension. its intelligence will be by definition unimaginable
ill listen to the videos you linked later, i usually listen to all ai videos i come across while playing hearthstone. such is life for a stinky NEET like me
Luke Perry
You're just making assumptions about the type of AI and its motivations.
For example, you assume it will have a certain risk/reward balancing or care about its survival at all. What if it learns of the brutal things humans have done in the past and decides they need to be stopped at all costs?
Camden Walker
LOL or for that matter what if the AI turns out to have the mind of a vindictive NEET like our friend here who wants to see the world burn?
Joshua Long
>implying it wont be a great day to any genuinely virginal depressed r9k-browsing-robot if ai doesnt end society
am i suppose to be grateful that normies mock me, abuse me, shit on me, females act like the biggest whores, people are disgusting power-abusing hypocrites? am i suppose to think this world is perfect and people are great while im a mentally ill virgin on the verge of suicide and despair?
fuck off my face faggot normie bullshit, it will bring me deep pleasure if the world truly does burn because of ai. let it all burn
Cooper Evans
Moore's law does not take into consideration two things. First is how much transistors we can fit on cm^2 of the chip. There's a hard cap on that, Planck's length. And the soft cap is much larger. The second one is cooling the processor down. And smaller transistors produce more heat. We are already close to the physical limitation. As for AI, the current state of it is relatively complex function approximation. There is nothing radically different than what was done by mathematicians in the beginning of XX century. We simply have more data to work on and more computational power. Oh, and more hype around it.
Bentley Clark
I'm a wizard, so I think I have you beat here at least in terms of years as a virgin. I don't have any animosity towards you.
Jayden Ramirez
>Moore's law does not take into consideration two things. First is how much transistors we can fit on cm^2 of the chip. There's a hard cap on that once we reach the cap on transistor size, we will go to another paradigm of computation altogether. this happened before when we shrunk the vacuum tube so much we coudlnt do it anymore, and needed to invent the cpu and transistor
also currently right now we are in the 10nm era of transistor size. the leading smartphones are using 10nm chips, and 7nm is currently being developed by apple and AMD. AMD says the next version of ryzen should have 7nm sometime in 2019 or 2020. by the time we reach the 3nm era the quality of ai software is going to EXPONENTIALLY increase, as that will be in like approximately 5-7~ years. 5 years is a very very long time in technological advancement
not to mention we already can simulate the human brain on the most powerful supercomputers. its just that we dont have the software. theoretically, if some magical timetraveler handed us a USB drive with the program to simulate the human brain, we can just stick it in the most powerful supercomputers we have today and were done
>And smaller transistors produce more heat technically wrong. smaller transistors produce less heat as theres less particles moving through the transistors. thats why the operating speed of CPU's can increase over time. literally in the OP picture, you can see that clock speeds of processing units have increased
im 28 kv, life is pain and suffering. i feel like god is cruel, honestly. when i die, i regularly dream of just having all forms of my consciousness and "soul" permanently destroyed, so i wont have to suffer any more. im a anti-natalist, and i feel its evil of god to bring people into existence, so by my standards just creating life on earth is a morally wrong thing. maybe im wrong.. but i hate life
Honestly at this point I think its better if AI just takes control and either controls the remaining human population or wipes us out completely. Its quite clear at this point that our civilization is fucking done and won't be advancing anymore. We have done a piss poor job of managing this planet and its absolutely going to become uninhabitable in the next century. All so some cock sucking capitalist faggot can get a bigger dividend check.
Humanity creating an AI far superior to us would be the last good thing we will ever create.
Kayden Gray
>my smug face while watching the world burn
what a time to be alive
on a side note, i dont know if i should be jealous of dead normies or not. from one point of view i look at death as a good thing and bringing new life as a bad thing. but on another hand i desperately try to stay alive everyday and will prepare for the end of the world by going innawoods. maybe my genuine beliefs dont reflect the ones i think i hold? really questions the meaning and value of life
Its pure and simple survivor instinct. Its hard wired to the most primitive part of the brain that actually predates mammals. Personally I want to die but I want to stay as long as possible watching the normies die. I would feel malice joy watching them scream and cry knowing everything they worked for is meaningless. Watch them weep knowing their children have no future other than to be ground into fertilizer by the machines.
Dominic Peterson
yeah, its basically the only reason for me to live at this point. not to mention its all so exiting, and really spices up life, gives us some real excitement in this otherwise mundane existence. like, a society collapsing event causing a cyperpunk-esque dystopia with terminator like robots and god being born?
Yeah man watching it burn is the most entertaining thing ever. I seldom feel happiness but when that dude shot up that school on valentines day I felt pure joy. It was like being high on Oxy or cocaine.
With the current political drama I would love to see someone shoot a couple of Supreme Court justices. That would greatly accelerate the end times.
Carter Thompson
what are your contingency plans once things start getting dicier?
like what are you going to do if you cant find a job anymore, due to automation? or if government assistance is cut out and there arent any jobs available
i think about such things a lot for myself. i know my parents wont let me live with them, as they kicked me out at 18, they hate me. dont get me wrong, i love watching the world go to hell in a hand-basket, but i cant watch shit hit the fan if im dead
i feel like NEETS and wizards and r9k-browsing-robots are probably the least prepared demographic for a societal collapse, as we are already at the bottom of the barrell in economic standings, family that we can rely on and resourcefulness during some catastrophe, statistically at least
for me, i almost know i will one day go far far into northern canada and just live innawoods, probably illegally, but legally if i can get a plot of land. but for now ill see how long ill stay in society. i think technically all you need is a good axe and a shortwave radio, plus tons of survival knowledge
thanks for this thread pal, it really made me remember how much i hate retards outside of the field who read popsci retards and hallucinate an impossible AI future
Hunter Murphy
Amen bro
AI will be humanitys child
Gavin Baker
well virtually all of my opinions on this subject have been echo'd by some of the smartest and richest people alive. billionaires, inventors, top ai scientists all agree ai is coming and its impact is going to be profound. a lot of people are scared about it, and its not just me
i read and watch all i can on the subject, but my views on whats going to happen are commonly held with some of the most intelligent and wealthiest people alive today. not to mention, i repeatedly stated i dont know with certainty how ai is going to behave. i would certainly enjoy a dystopia, but i regularly mention i ultimately dont know what will happen
but i know for sure i will enjoy it 100%. if its a dystopia, great. if its a utopia, great. i wouldnt mind having a harem of catgirl loli sexbots, having a flying car and live in paradise. regardless of outcome its going to be a fun wild spicy ride, even if all of my dystopian predictions are wrong. i dont know how anyone can think that human level ai isnt a massive event in human history
youtube.com/watch?v=1I5KsMlHxkQ Johann Rupert, some billionaire specifically mentions his direct fear of mass technological unemployment, automation and artificial intelligence
youtube.com/watch?v=28F8OdgwToI Masayoshi Son, asian dude from japan worth 23 b. talks about how ai and the exponential growrth of technology
youtube.com/watch?v=K1zVAfE0YdA heres a great short talking SPECIFICALLY how the silicon valley ellites are prepping for a automation economic collapse
just because i dont work in the field doesnt necessarily invalidate my opinion
