I've been working on Ligma for a couple of months now

Everything

in not getting bald

5% minox on my temples daily

My MBA

whats ligma?

Please stop posting cavill, he's an eternal reminder that I'll always be a 3/10

>Absolute busting my ass at work at top tech company while rest of team cruises and leaves at 4. Clearly the top performer and boss loves me
>Taking night courses in higher level machine learning and studying for the GMAT
>Applying to MS/MBA programs so I can break into $400k+ mode
>After 5 years of mixed consistency in the gym, I have worked out for 27 days in a row (includes "off" days where I sllprint and do plyo). Using a habit tracker to watch progress now and it's working. I intend to go any entire year without skipping
>My teeth look pretty good but I'm going to have them professionally whitened to looksmax

My main motivation in all of this is having enough money to fly private bacause I hate leaving my dog at boarding when I travel home to the east coast. I hate having to sit with fat/poor useless sacks of meat and wait in that line with all those sorry excuses for human beings. My wife thinks I'm nuts because I already make ~$250k in the Bay area as a mid level engineer, own home back east, have tons of money saved and no debt. I don't care. I want to conquer everything and leave humanity behind.

ligmaballs xD

Ligma balls..

Hey, that's great that you're trying so hard. I don't want to try as hard as that, do you really have to spit in my eye as you climb to the top?

How old are you?

27

Nothing, I know I have so much to do, I know I am so socially and fiscally behind my friends and peers but I can't physically get myself to begin my metamorphosis

I'm 19, same with my social circles and close friends.
They're all more valuable than I am. Already at such a young age they have internships, high paying jobs and expensive lifestyles even as students and apprentices. Meanwhile, I'm struggling to land jobs as a kitchen hand.
They have cars, girlfriends, money, sex, vacations, lives. I see them maybe once every month because I simply cannot afford their activities.

I'm gonna miss this boat sooner or later if I don't grow up. I was never taught how to act like a man, but I need to act now and start being a more valuable member of society if it is to accept me.

Anyone have any advice for an older student? Specifically looking for study and test taking tips

I'm 27, live with my parents, getting my second diploma from community college, balding virgin. It's remarkable how different our lives are.

My value to who?

What's your original degree?

joining the military and trying to get big.

Just stop feeling sorry for yourself. Nobody cares. It's the truth. Improve every day and you'll get there.

BS in Computer Science from top 20 school.

I was a terrible student, but professionally I'm a reasonably elite engineer. I interview well (tech interview) and have a bunch of patents in my sub field of image processing.

organise your stuff. like an autist. and whatever you want to do next week, do it today.

>Obtaining a degree in biochemistry and biophysics
>Thinking of changing to chemistry due to social stigma around biological sciences despite the mathematical emphasis of my major
>planning on finishing school, getting my law degree after that, and entering technical copyright law for genetic sequences
>the US has a 3 year backlog on all copyright and with new gene editing software and hardware, and the lack of laws surrounding genomic copyright, someone stands to make mad bank off it
>mfw I really hope I at least end up doing good with all this - I don't want to be one of those lawyers for Monsanto or something who kill themselves out of guilt
>also been learning Chinese for the last 5 years. My school is very much Chinese so it's useful
>planning on learning Arabic and Latin at some point
>also studying the history and philosophy of science

Recently got a new job offer for 20k more then current job

New place is only working 3 days a week, figured if I really hate myself I can moonlight them and try working 80 hour weeks in a few months

Read.

Well done homie, I'm biolawanon from below, I'm hoping to do well like that. I'm at a school which is fairly unknown amongst the populace but very well known amongst employers, so hopefully that helps

What was your starting salary if you don't mind me asking? I'm looking for a degree that will get me 90k - 6 figures within the first 5 years of employment. If I don't make 6 figures annually by 30 i'm gonna off myself.

Attached: 1542798190286.gif (600x396, 2.73M)

Base salaries in the Bay area are around $110k plus cash bonus and RSU

I started out in a smaller market. In my first year I made $70k after a big year end bonus.

I have a hard time believing this. How are they the same age as you but with high paying jobs, especially at 19? Also: ask your friends to hook you up, dummy. That’s how you get good jobs for the most part.

Most of my friends work for family-run enterprises so they get excepted wages for their job. Most of my friends are students, myself included. I need to do more on my part without a doubt, but nonetheless I'm far behind them all

I still stand by the second part of my post then. Get them to hook you up with a decent job.

This is me but im 21. You dont want to be here

>tfw 33 year old khv

>My teeth look pretty good but I'm going to have them professionally whitened to looksmax
Only Americans do this
Why

>33yr old ex-druggie/drunk/fatty/baldy
>Lived with parents until 27
>Quit drugs
>force myself to get drinking in check
>back to gym, looking best shape since early 20s
>own my house
>own my car
>recently purchased additional property to become a landlord
>still bald
>still alone
>still pretending i have no intention to die alone around family

Say what you will, It’s still up. All you need is a solid 5yr plan and a bit of luck.

5 yrs isn't long enough to improve my credit score

>I hate having to sit with fat/poor useless sacks of meat and wait in that line with all those sorry excuses for human beings.
Psychopathy is a hell of a drug

Nice excuse for not trying m8

haha that's a good one friends :)

Nah, I live in Amsterdam, and my friend/neighbour paid for teeth whitening sessions for all his close family members. He's a pretty rich youtuber though, I guess most people won't be able to afford it.

University for engineering degree. Bulking so summer shreds will pay off more.

>zero debt whatsoever

Is there anything i can do that would up my value more or is it just getting better at tge things im already doing at this point? i guess i could whiten my teeth

My income is massively inflated due to my market. I only made between 70k and 100k in a "normal" market my first few years out of college. I only made it up to 100k because I singlehandedly created a bunch of new revenue drivers for the small tech company I was at. Used my first job experience for engineering gig at a Big 5 in the Bay. At 100k in my last market I had just as much fun money at the end of the month -- my bonus is just way better here cause the company is massive.

Do tech interview problems every single night, for at least an hour. Data structures, algorithms, Big Oh, should be automatic and second nature. You're up against Chinese autists who study for 2 years for their Google interview (srs)

Also stop feeling sorry for yourself. Nobody cares. Most pathetic trait on a man is self pity. Grow up

Where do you do the problems? I am usually on kattis but I need better stuff.

Bootlicker

probably lying through your teeth but in case not dont let us pathetic wageslaves drag you down. Soar to infinity and beyond user

Also if it makes you feel any better:

I'm pretty weak. Can only bench 170 for 5 reps. Squat is under 225 for 5. Deadlift is 315 (good relative leverages for DL).

I'm around 19% bf right now, so I look "normal" from a professional standpoint with smart casual clothes on, but my body is shit. I'm skinnyfat and working to change it

Also, buy "Cracking the Coding Interview" and read the entire book. Do EVERY SINGLE PROBLEM.

Also, take every interview you get a callback for. ALWAYS BE INTERVIEWING, even if you're not "actively" looking. Interviewing is a skill. Keep your practice up. You can only simulate so much from home. There's not substitute for REAL pressure.

How's college, user?

>training and studying for drivers license

22 years old. In 2 years ive Gone from being morbidly obese NEET to working full time and sorting my life out to be somewhat normal atleast. Im satisfied with my progress

Thanks friend, I'm currently a software eng at a video game studio but I think ill probably be looking elsewhere soon

More importantly, be healthy and look good. Seriously. I have absolutely grilled people in the past and I was amazed at how they got past interviews just by being good looking and not autistic. In all my discussions with the team I've noticed that they hardly even discuss whether someone gets the right answer. The main things are:

Is this person retarded?
Does this person have a major character flaw that would shine even if they weren't good looking?
Is this person ugly?
Does this person have a previous connection from when Jack worked at NVIDIA?

If you can prove you're not retarded, work on the rest. You won't run a company this way, but you'll get the best bang for your buck.

Yep. This too. I didn't ace my interview and I got the job. Only had to do 3 rounds.

I definitely know autists who don't know how to dress that can DESTROY me in pure algorithm development and a whiteboard session. But they have mediocre "back room" jobs, and they don't progress. Image is everything, which is why I'm focusing on my body now.

Pretty good, thanks

Hey man can I ask you for some advice. I was depressed out of my mind about 8 months ago, unemployed, wanted to suicide. I taught myself web-development through a bootcamp.
I know Ruby/Rails/JS/React/NodeJS/SQL and am desperately looking for a job (I live in NYC). Do you have any tips for me to find work. I've been solely receiving rejections when I apply online but I have had 2 phone interviews, for jobs I wasn't qualified for. I keep getting interviews for jobs that aren't programmers though, like solutions engineer, IT consultant.

I dont want that. I want to get better at programming. WTF do I do? Am I doomed?

My ammo stockpile.

His nose has a butt on it

Keep interviewing. Pay for a professional resime service. Practice tech interview stuff.

It's basic statistics. More interviews = higher chance. I know guys that did 200+ interviews before getting a decent job

Also build out your personal portfolio.

I moreso meant where to apply, or where to meet people. Everyone keeps telling me tech meetups, but I feel like that wouldn't work. I just built myself a pretty nice portfolio site as well.

Im currently using Indeed, glassdoor, and AngelList. AngelList seems kind of lame though because all of the startups on there have like 10 employees and I feel like my experience level would show.
I have a "job fair" at my bootcamp thing from Tomorrow to Thursday, where ill have about three interviews a day. Hopefully that gets me something, or else IDK what to do besides send out hundreds of more apps.

not him but I had a pretty miserable time trying to get my first job. in college i worked on my own startup rather than doing traditional internships which made it very hard to get responses, the process of getting a job took literally a year and at that point i was getting pretty morbidly depressed, thought about killing myself etc

I now have a starter job at a place in SF, 100k. been here about 6months. company is kind of shitty but the people I work with are cool

anyways, some tips:

embellish on your resume if you feel like you just arent getting responses. no one cares or verifies anything you put on it outside of top companies. just make sure you know the tech that you put down

you live in nyc. go to meetups and ask people if their company is hiring

if you can ask people for references, you should ask. companies pay their employees bounties for finding hires. it's in their interest to reference you

leetcode

Yea. Im kinda worried that this is going to take a very long time. Im 2 months in already and it doesn't seem to be going anywhere.
I already am imbellishing, I have it down that im working as a full time developer for some startup for the last 3 months whereas Im actually an unpaid intern working for some jewish guy who is trying to build a stupid ass website and he knows nothing about tech, just trying to make money. Not sure if I should say I have been there longer than 3 months? My plan was to say I am a contracted employee looking fora full time position. Also, I have down that I know PostgreSQL and Sequelize when in reality I don't, im only vaguely familiar, and plan to learn it only if I get a job.

Conferences and tech meetups. Got my interview at current job because of connection made at a conference

Can you explain how these things go down? Are there like booths or something where companies post up and you can chat them up and ask if theyre looking for people? I don't want to show up to some casual event and be the only guy looking for a job.

Getting good grades, making sure all my projects are worthy of a good company, losing fat and gaining muscle, balancing diet and taking some supplements. These are all things im currently doing, things I still need to do:
Mental gains through reading ( in my native tongue because im starting to sound like a retard at it), socializing more with the people from my course (trying to lose the fear of speaking to strangers and being confident), reconnect with my family on both sides (parents splitting up fucked me up in my teens)

Can you give a quick rundown of how you did everything? When did you start school, what previous knowledge did you have of whatever you are doing, etc. I just turned 20 and feel life closing in on me fast but I don't want it to take me by surprise like it does to everyone.

absolute shit IMO. Dont buy it. Or hell, I can send it to you for free. IDK why I bought it-

>lists watching anime as a virtue
Not saying its a vice, but wow

Mate, you're only 19, you can easily turn your life around if you start now. The only thing holding you back is yourself. I'll second it's a decent enough read that you will find helpful if you're feeling completely lost. His lectures online are basically what's written in the book if money's an issue in getting it. Going to a psychologist might also be helpful, I used to feel the way you do a few years ago combined with real bad social anxiety, a couple sessions helped me to radically improve my well-being and turn my life around big time.

Do a little bit each day of every class you are in, at the very least. Even if that is just a ~20 minute review of what was discussed in the previous class, it will do wonders for your memory in that subject matter.

shit nigga good for you, though if you wanted to leave humanity behind the quicker route would be to just kill yourself

I'm trying to quit drinking socially. Diet cola will give me cancer, but it's still better than doing what I'm doing now.

Holy shit, an user that actually makes fat cash and isn't LARPing his ass off. Sorry I doubted you. Seconding . 23 and still trying to figure out what to do in life

I was a shit student, but managed to finish my law degree and start working as a tax advisor at a Big4 at age 25. After a few years, I decided to go back to school and do a PhD (they pay me a basic salary of ~30k in the form of a grant), so that I can either have a simple life in Academia or get a better job at a law firm/public sector/etc. when I’m done. It sounds like I am wasting a lot of potential for making money, but the trade-off is that I have a super comfy job reading and writing on my favourite topic, have plenty of time to lift and pursue my hobbies (I play guitar, I write), and even though I turned 30 a month ago, I managed to achieve the following in the last year:

>zero debt
>modest savings (~5k per year)
>reading and learning like a beast
>cute gf
>wrote a novel
>bf is lower than ever, reaching ottermode
>looksmaxed and look better than I did at 20
>comfy group of friends
>quit smoking and now drink in moderation ~2/3 beers per week)
>great relationship with my parents and siblings

It may not sound like much, but I spend most of my time doing things that I like with people I love, and although I may not become rich (at least not in the mid term), I can say that I am happy.
