I cut myself for first time last night.
my tip would be to be careful you dont do it in exposed area as the cuts show.

I am now trying to avoid my mum and shit because cuts.

dont go too deep you can just drag across you and bleed, im still new to it but it doesnt even hurt.
cutting seems better than burning but it doesnt hurt.
I have some burns and they are taking literal weeks to heal and are still open wounds.

I get it. I was into self harm when I was young and in a dark place. It was a release like no other. I never felt so alive as when I was bleeding.

But I have to say, please, please please stay away from burning. The risk of permanent damage is far higher, infection, horrible scarring etc.

As for cutting, I can't stop you from doing it as much as I wish I never started, so don't go too deep, stick to upper thighs and upper arms.

Just know that it gets better. There is a light at the end of the tunnel no matter how dark it is out there around you. Vent it out in this thread if it helps, we're all in this together.

do it in the shower it's easier to cut and to clean up but just don't go too far there were multiple times when I could barely put my clothes on by the time i got out
