What does Jow Forums think is the most beautiful species of bird?
For me, it's the violet-crowned woodnymph, a bird native to South America.

This is an off-topic board, no?
I hate birds
i like it, it looks like a demon-lord
Just a reminder that the natural diet of these birds are BONES. Not just bone marrow; actual bone shards. They pick up huge freaking bones from carcasses and drop them onto rocks until they get spiky pieces and then they swallow them. Their stomach acid is strong enough to digest bone.
Look me in the eye and tell me this isn't a fucking dragon.
And they aren't naturally red like that; that's self applied makeup. They find the reddest, darkest earth they can find and work it into their feathers as a status symbol.
And they don't scavenge other parts of the carcass. Just the bones. 85-90% of their diet is exclusively bones. Hence why it's a myth these birds would pick up whole lambs and carry them off. It's not true, but that didn't stop the Germans from calling them Lämmergeier, or lamb-vulture.
dude, this is awesome
I know
Reminder that its also massive with a wing span of 9 feet.
jesus, look the size of that demon-dino-chicken

The name comes from the old English word "piebald" or white-headed
