I experienced this a long time ago in a Euro country. I had a job doing dishes as a teenager. I had a new hire join me on a shift for training and I told we needed to something ready by 5pm so they could beginning closing the store. He couldn't tell the time on the analogue clock we had in the kitchen, so I had to teach this 14 year old kid how to tell the time.

The saddest part is this is taking place in the UK
