If you are looking at a video of someone infested with maggots you should always observe:
> Is the wound properly cleaned and desinfected?
> Is the patient wearing hospital robes?
> Does the patient appears to be well cares for like he has already undergone the first stages of medical assistance?
> The maggots are carefully aligned, all presenting the same size and shape?
If those criteria are not met, you're probably looking at an alarming case of myiasis. Most of the afflicted are generally poor, homeless, uneducated and have some degree of mental problems, which is one of the reasons why they let it get on that level before taking some sort of action.

There's a surprising amount of flesh on your actual face that is both relatively easy to destroy and not vital at all to surviving.
Just google pictures of people who've been the victims of bear attacks, where they literally get their faces torn off. There's usually an after picture of a year later where they look relatively normal, because even if it's not perfect it's something that's relatively easy to put back together. The only thing in your skull you actually need is your brain - if the damage doesn't get to that or your throat, you stand a decent chance of surviving. Face wounds tend to look really bloody because of all the small capillaries without actually running the risk of losing very much blood (because they're small).

Those are not maggots debridement therapy you moron. Look at the amount of maggots in the videos, look how dirty and unclean the wound is, look how obviously infected it looks. That person is suffering from myiasis and the people in medical assistance are so shocked they decided to film it.

Yeah for this video. For others, with sinus infections most treatments to remove the dead tissue is with maggots.

All the people I've seen with really bad cases (still not as bad as op) were both homeless and mentally impaired. It starts with an untreated wound. Are there many flies where you live? Have you seen what flies do to open wounds?
A "normal" person would certainly notice something crawling in their skin and take necessary action to get rid of it, but we're talking about people living in a marginalized class with little to no access to proper health care. The wound probably started small and it progressed throughout the years. Little by little. He got used to until a point, which was probably when he decided to look for help.

The maxilla isnt really necessary to core function. Its a mass of flesh and bones but no arteries so you can live without it. Im guessing that vid was a failed suicide, its pretty common with people who shoot themselves in the chin or mouth. The bullet doesnt actually go into the brain pan but straight up through the face blowing it open.

The human body is excessively resiliant for quite a long time. Add in medical intervention and even massively devestating wounds can be survived.

War victims have their entire intestines blown out, entire limbs blown off, the entire bottom half of their body removed by explosive trauma and survive.

Ask any hunter what happens when with even a clean heart shot with a high caliber rifle like a .308 Winchester when you shoot a deer. It runs for 100-200 meters easy before dying. It took a full powered rifle round to the heart, it is essentially already dead, and it will run for 100 meters on pure adrenaline. That's WHY hunters have dogs, not to bring the healthy game down but to find it when it runs.

Humans and white tailed deer are about the same weight. A human is exceptionally hard to kill outright. And that tard just blew his face off, never even touched any vital organs. Give him some blood clotting agent and plenty of IV fluids and he'll survive just fine.
