>older 4 year old phone still works & runs strong.
>features are kind of dated though
>bought a new(refurbished) phone for $400
>tfw barely touched it besides making sure it works
>I've literally been sitting here for hours trying to decide if I should return it or keep it
I mean sure it has a better camera, a better curved screen, and a fingerprint sensor, and small bezels but I'm racking & I still can't justify keeping it.
Seems like a waste, and my current phone would just sit unused in a drawer... What should I do?
Older 4 year old phone still works & runs strong
Why do people spend 600 dollars on a phone
Why do people buy new phones every other year
I don't understand
what carrier do you have
I assume because of the new features, and the new aesthetic designs. That's kind of why I want one. Like I said I've had mine since 2014
T-mobile. I usually get all my phones unlocked though
Because we're not poor
>What should I do?
Exterminate all non-western culture.
I just spent 1500 on a new phone and majorly regret.
i had the same iphone for nearly 8 years before it finally got too fucked up and old to work properly anymore - if you have a phone that works fine why would you shell out 400 bucks to fix a problem you don't have?
The real culprit is the battery becoming crap after 2 years or so (partly how li-ions work and planned obsolescence by manufacturers). Since they're not user replaceable and most people aren't doing to put in the effort to find a repair shop, they opt to just buy a new one. Couple this with consumerism, and it's the natural flow sadly
Cause the camera is shit, and it's missing a lot of features that phones have today. The size is also pretty small by todays standards too.
I'll probably just return it though. As much as i like it, I'm just mentally too frugal to discard and let a working phone collect dust.
Not him, but that was the main reason I got a Sony phone. Stamina mode is pretty awesome, I still get over a day w/o having to charge which is nice.
If you want your old phone to last longer you should look into installing a custom ROM like lineage OS if it supports your phone. Also replace the battery.
Whats the best phone less than
The battery is great, I also replaced the kernel, and installed a custom deodexed rom a long time ago.
That's almost the problem, after all this time the phone just won't die so I can move on and experience greener pastures..
keep the phone desu
if you had the cash to buy it then you arent gonna miss it. whats some spare cash at the end of the day you might enjoy a new phone more than you think
Still have a galaxy s5 though I also want a Pixel 2 for the better camera. Still seems like a waste though, only to take pics of my hikes that nobody else cares about. I'd return it and get something more useful.
Yeah, that's actually what I bought.
Went from a Sony Xperia Z3 Compact to a Pixel XL 2 since they dropped in price
Return it. If, after a month, you don't miss it, then you didn't need it.
don't forget to share the pics with the lads in /out/
>spending even 400 on a phone
Xiaomi Redmi note 5, 200 bucks
>using a chinese phone
Enjoy having your data stolen, and privacy gone
Because google and every app on your phone aren't vacuuming up 100% of your data?
>implying you arent being spied on by the west already
also custom rom, and root to block anything you dont like
Based, I have the Redmi 4
weak bait
I had an old xperia that was 8 years old, bought it from a friend. Still working to this day, but I made the mistake of formatting it, thinking it would increase performance. Now I can't download anything on it, because it's on Android 2.3.
I guess I could just install custom rom and the likes, but I'm not much of a tech pro. Really don't want to spend ~3-400 eur for a damn zoomer phone.
That's not even bait, China literally steals everything. Just check their track record and laws. All they care about is leeching & using those gains for themselves.
Their using it for my & the world benefits. Just look at the things they've done with machine learning and AI plus a plethora of other things.
Google and Apple pioneered the fucking spying business to begin with.
If you cant comprehend the idea of an upgrade you shouldnt have one
>600 dollars
You are like baby
