Any regrets (besides the obvious ones)?

I wish I had attended a Jow Forums board meetup when those still existed.
All the board meetup photos, no matter how awkward they were, seemed downright cosy.

My whole life is a series of regrets.

Probably going to do something I regret tonight.

Sure but there must be something really specific, some key regret that if you had the courage to tackle when you had the chance, your life mightn't have been so bad?

What is everyone (old) gonna do once they're free of this prison cell called Jow Forums?

Turned 35 a month ago. I don't feel any older but the march of time still makes me sad.

Do 18-22 year old girls like dating 30+ year old guys?

What exactly do you have to offer some idiot 18 yo?

There are quite a few that would but....yeah don't expect it to end up being a long term relationship or something.

What about you? Any big regret?

>not going to college
I know it's not the answer for everybody but I think I would have had a better life if I did. I wanted to get into compsci but adults around me said that it was a waste because computers and internet were a passing fad that would go nowhere. Shame on me for listening.

I regret being scared of change. Was too attached to my comfort zone. Preferred being a loner and sometimes let women in, who ended up reminding me of why I prefer being alone.

Moved 12 hours and 5 states away. Trying to hold on to precious time.

33 next year, I regret nothing and I am glad I will never not despise humans in general.

Also luckily I am a NEET on welfare and can leech from those stupid humans.

He's just shallow.

>computers and internet were a passing fad

What kind of absolute fucking retard believes that? if anything, everything is being converted to be done on computers nowadays.

I guess that retard is me. This was like year 2001 or 2002. I was an impressionable kid. No need to get angry.

I remember those years. Probably a bit younger than you - but computers were going to be meant for the government and not personal use. God, if we had the internet access we do now, when I was a juvenile? Probably wouldn't have been such a delinquent.

There's nothing wrong with being an impressionable kid. Now you just need to adapt. There's nothing wrong with going back and learning conpsci so you can make your dream future a reality

the reality of compsci is that you will learn the trade, get a job, and then be replaced within 4-8 years by somebody who will do the same job for lower pay.

Imagine how much easier life would have been if it was as easy to get nudes back then as you can now through modern social media.

Well I really feel like I'm too old to go back for a bachelors. I work in tech but as a support person. I've done a bit of scripting/automation and still trying to learn more Pyhon for my next career move.

my first memory of a computer was Kindergarten, where the was only a few computers for each grade, and it was assigned to 2 kids in each class every week. Played some muppets game to help teach you how to read and shit.

Why not take up a trade?

Did you do Oregon Trail or Mathblaster?

lol oh shit Oregon Trail was I think 3rd grade, only beat it once. The bigger thing was... got it's going to be hard to explain - they had cards with 4 numbers on it - you had to multiply, divide, add, subtract all to equal a certain number. I think it was 24 or 12... I don't know if even google will be able to help with this.

A wild thing was - I went to elementary school with Seung Cho

AH! well this is dumb, the game was named "24"

how dare you post hentai of dennou coil, you evil bastard. dennou coil is not to be lewded. touhou on the other hand.......

>I wish I had attended a Jow Forums board meetup when those still existed.
yup. i'll always regret this. only thing i went to were those dumb scientology "protests".

Here this is not lewd and directly from the anime.

Hey i don't know if you're still in this thread, but i didn't mean to call you a retard, i meant the people saying it to you are retards, not you,

Coming from someone who is 34 and a freshman, it's never too late.
I really hope you look into community college. It's changed my life.

Younger woman being with an older guy who has a career + good finances is one of the most common setups there are.
Those adults are fucking retards, and I'm fucking mad at them for being retards. It's common for people to shit on new tech whenever it's in its first or second phase of hype, but 20 or so years ago, computers were already well established in the workplace and the home, and it was pretty obvious that it still had massive room for growth into every aspect of our lives. For fuck's sake, when I was 10, my grandfather dropped a few thousand on a computer for me and told me to learn it because it was the future and I could make it big with them, or at least have a good job. That was 30 years ago. He wasn't some nerd, either. Dude was barely educated and spent most of his life working for casinos, mobsters, and leeching off of rich women. I shoulda followed his advice about women, too.

The good news is that you can still learn development and/or ops and turn that into a career, or get into some other aspect of the industry, like business analysis. The tech industry is fucking desperate for talent.

are you a millionaire?

in about this order:

1. being a poor kid who went to a meme college

2, getting a meme degree, believing that shit about anyone can do anything just set your mind to it. Not realizing how much bullshit that was, and that meme jobs are for rich kids.

3. having a chip on my shoulder, so i drove off my family, couldnt make friends, let alone connections, fucked my life by 22, and ddnt even know it.

4. couldnt hold a job., had useless meme degree.

5. didnt even consider investing or saving back when it would of made me an easy millionaire now.

6. now looking back. I see all the parts i fucked up, and there s no reset/replay

All good, fren. Thanks for pointing that out. That experience as a kid did teach me as an adult to not take peoples advice on careers unless they're doing what I want to do.

What are you studying? I'm settling into a new job soon but am looking into some classes for programming at one of my local community colleges.

It's probably never too late to follow his advice on women as well. A good take away from this is to always be open to learning new tech (or other aspects of life). Something I've been trying to educate my younger family members and next generation on.

31 here had a 22 year old girl in my bed last night, she did say "why are you so old". Does feel like a big age gap, but she has a kicking body.

dude thats my wallpaper

I wish I didn't lose so much ambition after I graduated college. I was defeated after being stuck working retail for 5 years rather than fueled by it. Now seeing people younger than me succeeding in my same field is pretty depressing.

>why are you so old
Why do young people ask this so repeatedly?

I'm the same way. I wish I could stop comparing myself to others success. Hope you make it, bro.

>all those ironic "If you remember [7th gen game], your childhood was AWESOME!!!" shitposts from 7 years ago finally came true

How do you feel about this boomers?
