I wanna get into Dragon Ball. Thinking of starting with DBZ Kai. Thoughts?

DBZ Kai is probably the easiest to get into I suppose, but starting from the original Dragon Ball will give the biggest weight to the story in terms of what happens later. Good luck avoiding spoilers also, considering it was one of the if not the most popular anime that was released decades ago.

The original Dragon Ball is not bad at all, I think it's great, you should definitely at least try watching it before going into the later series.

Start with the original Dragon Ball. I was going to jump straight into DBZ and then Super when I decided to start watching a few months back, but I decided last minute to start with Dragon Ball. Best decision I made regarding this series. Dragon Ball is more light hearted with better comedy and more focus on characters while DBZ kind of devolves into who can make the largest explosion.

Kai is trash and runs dialog and tensions

Watch dbz dub then dragonball then super

Or watch in order if you have patience dragonball is great in its own right

Toriyama pretty much went off the rails with plotlines after Frieza, he's admitted in a few interviews that he didn't know where the series was going and kind of expected everything to end there
DBZ fans aren't aware of this for the most part so it's not your fault

1. Watch the Bardock father of goku (1990) movie
2. Watch dragonball (skip straight to dbz when you get bored)
3. Watch dragonball z. The original version, not kai
4. Watch GT
