Well in my experience the first step is realizing that bdp is a problem. So my suggestion is trying to help her get better (normal) , if you want to have an actual long productive relationship.
Also don't get 2 attached while trying to fix her as it all might go to shit.
In a 5 year relationship now , took 1 year 2 fix
But had a few failed attempts with different girls in the past

I had a bpd gf and it was absolutely horrendous. I have bipolar, so I thought we might be able to relate, but I can't say we could basically at all. She saw everything in black and white, mood swings were so unstable and changed at a whim. She could he extremely happy and then burst into tears because I said something that was insignificant, at least in my eyes. Incredibly impulsive and got me in trouble plenty, as well as herself. It was too much to handle, especially once I got depressed as shit, she was incredibly uncaring and expected everything from me. Do not reccomend bpd gfs, unless you are mentally sound, extremely patient, and really love them. Even then, it is kind of a toss up.

Well it's really thought patterns which developed as you developed due to specific traumatic events. It's difficult to escape your brain when it tells you to act react in a specific way.

Thank you. It does stem from trauma, yeah, but all of those memories are repressed so Im just stuck wondering what exactly happened to me. I know the broad strokes, incestual abuse and being too autistic for everyone around me to handle so I ended up being treated like an animal.

I have hope for myself, idk if I have any mental illnesses but I have hope I can get a gf.
