Are dreams real, Jow Forums?

Are dreams real, Jow Forums?

Sometimes, I want to believe that the things that happen in my dreams are somehow indicative of things in reality. But I'm probably being completely irrational. Or am I? I don't know what to make of it all...

There are a few other things that make me question the "non-realness" of dreams.

1. The continuity of my dream world. My dreams don't consist of random adventures in random imagined places every time. Frequently I'll visit parts of the dream world where I've already been multiple times.

2. The lack of randomness. Dreams aren't like static on a television screen, it isn't just neurons firing randomly. Every dream is like a story.

3. My ability to recall my dreams increases greatly when in a semi-dream state. I'd challenge you all to try this because when I first figured it out it blew me away. When you wake up at night and you're laying there still sort of half asleep, try thinking about dreams you've had in the past. You'll find you're able to recall them much more easily and vividly than you normally could, even dreams you may have forgotten about completely.

I'm asking Jow Forums because Jow Forums is the closest we have to a philosophy/psychology board. I'm not asking /x/ because they're retarded.

In my dreams, most of the people I meet seem to be wandering around in a confused state and are chasing petty objectives. Almost as if they are dreaming too.

>3. My ability to recall my dreams increases greatly when in a semi-dream state.

To add some clarity to this - this interests me particularly because if any of you have ever tried to keep a dream journal, you're well aware that it's almost necessary to lie there completely still after you've awoken to recall the dream you've just had, because if you get up out of bed you'll tend to forget it completely, or at least a lot of the details of the dream.

I always attributed this to simply forgetting the dream because you waited too long to write it down, like forgetting the plot of a movie because you haven't seen it in a long time. But it doesn't seem to have anything to do with time at all - if you can get back into this semi-dream state that you're in immediately after waking, you'll be able to recall the dream again.

It's as though we have separate dream memories that can only be accessed when our brain is in a certain state.

Everything is Maya.
Dreams are no more nor less real than "reality".

Sometimes, I remember the transition from the waking world to the dream one. It feels like i'm being pressed through a thin veil. Once it envelopes my face, there is a sensation of being submerged in water (Kind of like sliding into a bathtub.) and then i'm dreaming.

Why are you and your Christcucked pals spamming this shit? Go push your modified Judaism elsewhere.

Whenever I dream about someone in particular I always get the urge to ask them if they had dreamt about me too, but I don't want them to think I'm insane. And well, I probably would be insane for asking that because if there were some sort of "shared dream world", we would've figured that out a long time ago.

I still can't help but think about it every time though, especially after a particularly powerful dream.

Dreams are another form of communication for humans. I'm a mentalist and have been studying the occult for a bit now and recently I've noticed that the barrier between sleep and wake has been more visible. I can tell when I am falling asleep and I often find myself aware when I am dreaming and end up thinking about real life during them.

I had a dream that Alex Jones was president of America. He had a beard like Mel Gibson.

torture and murder socialists in their homes

sometimes I will ask them what year it is, Very few will give the same answer.

I had a dream last night where a friend of mine was still alive. It is not real.
>because Jow Forums is the closest we have to a philosophy/psychology board
wew lad

Lovecraft was correct. When we dream our spirits go to a real place, the Dreamlands

I had a dream that predicted the strange events of a frustrating day.
In the dream it happened to me, in reality when it happened to someone who was with me, all key details matched.
It's really weird because seeing keynotes to events that have not happened yet make you question things...

Last night I dreamed I was with my family in a strange rural farm country fair kind of place. My father wanted to ask where something was and went to 3 oldish men sitting on some seats for directions. They were extremely rude and didn't tell us anything, one of them even aggressively nudging my father with his cane. Their behavior angered me and I wanted to attack them, but restrained myself. As we walk away I turn toward them and sneeze in their faces. As we wander about the fair I begin to sense them following us. Here and there. As we sat in a covered cafe I spot one sitting nearby. A buxom woman is serving us coffee. For some reason I feel we need to "escape" - so I pick up some peas from a bowl and tip them into the woman's breasts. She begins to dance about and in the next "scene" she is a cow rushing as if stung by a wasp. Me and my family cling to the cow as it crashes into a barn as we make our getaway. Then I woke.

This is just your mind playing tricks on you. I had a somewhat similar case years ago when working on a particular script I couldn't get to execute properly. Tried all day and still failed. The solution came to me in my sleep, first thing I did was write it down as soon as I woke up. The script worked on first try.

I had an out of body experience when I was 9.
I flew above my house on the astral plane. It was vivid. I could see every detail of my neighborhood but there was no people or animals anywhere.
It was daytime and bright sunlight even tho I was in bed at night. I traveled down the street to the park and was floating between the two baseball diamonds when I was snapped back. I woke up agitated and angry. It was real.

I also had another "dream" around the same time which was exactly like 'A Christmas Carol', when the spirit is showing Scrooge scenes from his life.
I was looking at myself (as a boy) sitting on a swingset crying. It was my mother's funeral in the dream. I actually felt the grief of death, even after I woke up. I was abused by my parents and I always interpreted this dream as God telling me not to hate my mother.

Now you're freaking me out.

I had a friend who said he had such experiences too. My sister says she can "control" her dreams. Make things happen the way she wants.

Funny, I also once dreamt the solution to a scripting problem, and just like you it was an actual real solution that really worked and not some sort of weird phony "dream solution".

Astral projection or OBEs are something I experienced, or at least the physical sensation of getting out of your body and then being lucid in an extremely vivid dream world.
The law of one, by Ra is channeled material that has very interesting infos on planes and densities (planes on a grander scale of evolution basically). Good luck!

I was actually contemplating making a dream thread based on my dream last night. I was in Jerusalem on the wall watch Jews poke and instigate bears on the top of the wall. When the bears got mad they lept at the Jew and the Jew moved out of the way leading to the bears falling to their death off the wall. I remember very vivid detail that the bears would have their entrails out all over the ground and they were still alive attempting to crawl away. Then Jews would pick them up in wheelbarrows and take them away. I interpreted this as Israel is about to trick Russia into their demise.

>Are dreams real?
Yes. The "imaginings" of your "mind" are as real as the hallucinations of your waking reality. Don't even consider the logic of pure materialists if you want to get remotely close to the truth on this subject. One day in the future, we'll have access to technology that can accurately measure the discreet actions of consciousness on our physical reality, which will be the beginning of the next era of human evolution.

I havent really had dreams for about 3 years now. I was dating a girl who had dreams all the time and it made me realize I didnt even remember the last dream I had. Any idea on why I would literally never remember having a dream once I woke up? I mean not even waking up in the middle of a dream and remembering it for a moment, no memory or feeling of any dreams. Any ideas?

Stop smoking weed

You can peek into your future when you're dreaming. It takes practice but you can literally see where you will be in next 10 or 20 years or whenever you desire. If you cannot see anything then you are dead in that time.

As 674 said, stop smoking weed if you haven't tried that. Recovering my dreams was the one thing that really gave me any motivation to stop with smoking. You still dream when you smoke weed, and your subconscious still benefits from the dream, but your waking mind has nothing to decode upon waking.

That's just your subconscious mind working on the problem while your conscious mind is asleep.
Your subconscious mind has access to your knowledge base and the problem. All the information is there.

I dreamed about a scenario before it happened. I had no prior knowledge or access to that information. I experienced the prediction and witnessed the proof.

Ahh yeah I smoke weed. She does too but has ridiculous crazy vivid dreams constantly. Any idea on why weed impacts?

100% this. I haven't had a dream in 10 years

That's lucid dreaming.
When I was young I lucid dreamed all the time. I became aware I was dreaming and was able to explore and go on adventures.
I used to think everyone knew about that and did that, I thought it was strange when people did not believe me.

That's strange. I smoke a lot of weed every day and I still get occasional ultra-vivid dreams

Wtf is this shit, is Jow Forums even a political board anymore?

No, dreams are visions.

For example, last night I saw a vision of USA annexing Australia(for some reason, visions did not tell) in 2019, or 2020.

My guess is that the THC causes changes in your brain's short-term memory, which completely blows your dream recall out of the water. It's very possible your gf is just more intuitive and has a more active astral experience.

About as much as Sweden is Swedish.
You Finns never stop, do you?

Funny, I smoked last night and still had very vivid dreams too. I've found that going to sleep with a distinct intention to remember your dreams has a strong effect on the result.

Consciousness is a dream too my friend.

Amazing. I hope she was married.

When you're sleeping, you're very sensitive to the spiritual realm, both good and evil.

Sometimes God can speak to us through dreams.

Attached: la vida es sueño.jpg (313x499, 30K)

It is when the subconscious snatches tiny ideas to recode your DNA for evolutionary purposes. Dream of what you need user!

Christ, even Aussie dreams are shit-posts.

...

Sometimes dreams show us what the future will be like if we continue on our current path, and then when we wake up we change our path so that those things don't happen.

Multiple times I've dreamt of things that later happened, but it's also been inane shit.

This is true, I've met reoccuring characters in my dreams that I only know from my dreams. The most lucid dreams I usually have will usually have one of them or a specific character other than myself.

I feel very content with where my conscious mind is but it was very disconcerting to me when I realized I had no dream recollection. Made me feel like maybe I sacrificed that side to have a greater conscious self. I would like to balance it out so was happy to see the topic.

Any ideas outside of smoking weed? Or additional insight into how to increase my subconscious or my connection to it?

I’ve had many dreams that ended up happening. Same exact scene playing out but the plot (reason it was happening) was missing in the dream.
Best example I had a dream my brother relapsed on drugs and I had him pushed against a wall yelling at him. I woke up from my dream and told my mom.. she said “that would never happen”
3 months later I had my brother pushed against a wall yelling at him for relapsing. The reason he relapsed is because my mom died.

This.. See this...

When I was a kid I had a dream that me and some friends were sitting in my kitchen only it was completely different in every way. Different layout, furniture, cabinets, appliances, but 100% knew it was my kitchen. A few months later my house caught on fire and we had to move out for a bit while it was remodeled. I had nothing to do with the process, picking of furniture etc and couldnt impact it. When we moved back in I was sitting with a couple friends in the kitchen and realized it was that exact moment from my dream.

Absolutely not! It's not God's will that you smoke weed!

If you contact the spirit realm outside God's will, you will get demons and trouble. It's a VERY dangerous path to take!

Repent from weed, and accept Jesus.

That’s so interesting. Just so.. Weird man.. those moments when that happens are so surreal. I remember it all coming together..I just stop yelling at him and went to sit on the couch. Just so surreal

any of you remember deja vu as a dream you didn't remember or is that just me?

Last night, I had a dream about a group of farmers with high-tech weapons who
were in a battle with a huge T-Rex and the military at the same time (they seemed to be special ops dressed in black rather than combat soldiers). At first the T-Rex was helping the farmers, but after they defeated the military the farmers attacked the T-Rex. Really, really bizarre.

Well like, aside from that though. Outside of the weed stuff and preaching and whatnot. Im fine with not smoking weed, but im looking for more in depth information than "god says" ya know?

I once had a nightmare where I was actually pooping in toilet.

Time kind of stood still and the snapshot of what was in front of me matched the one in my mind from the dream, I wasnt even thinking about it until that instant when it all came back. Once that happened I stopped whatever conversation I was having and told my friends. I dont think they really understood how real or weird it was cuz we were like 11 so we were all like wow deja vu and kinda moved on.

The only good way to the spiritual, is through Jesus. Don't seek anything other than Him!

That being said, I used to smoke weed from the age of 19 to 26, and those very rare moments when I had dreams, I would forget them immediately.

Now I dream almost every night, and I remember a lot of them. Weed destroyed my dreams.

I'm free from it now though, thanks to Jesus!

>Different layout, furniture, cabinets, appliances, but 100% knew it was my kitchen

I get this a lot not just with places but also with people. It doesn't actually look like the person but somehow it's them. Not sure what I'd make of that.

heresy

gtfo to /x/ with ur mental illness

I think many people today deny spirituality and it's being suppressed.
It sounds like you just want amazing experiences but don't care about the cost.
Those kind of people end up chasing after the occult and worshiping demons for power.

Take your meds OP.

Ok, well im not convinced "Jesus" is the way. So please stop preaching him on a Taiwanese hill top rabbit herding forum.

That's fine, but I will never stop, I will talk about my Jesus to anyone who will listen

Have a nice day!

Some strange things I have noticed.
>recurring dreams with subtle changes
>connected dreams, memory of what happened in other dreams
>the best music I have ever heard has been in dreams, and my musical ability isn't that great
>the best book I have ever read was in a dream
>incredible cities that are not just a mashup of reality, completely new
Of course, many of these things suggest that dreams are a manifestation of something beyond even your own brain's creative capacity. So what is going on? It's interesting, to say the least.

Yeah man.
I sometimes catch glimpses of alternative paths in the moment of a dejavu

Nigger, im not going to worship a fucking demon. Im not afraid and im not tempted by shit, I am trying to better and balance myself. I am attempting to become more in touch with my spiritual and subconscious sides. Stop imposing your weaknesses on me, I know my motivations.

Dreams are the real reality, user.
You should look into this more but be careful what you wish for, truth is stranger than fiction brother

Yes of course! Many people report an increase in dream recall by writing down the bits that your remember upon waking. You can also meditate as you lie down to sleep, and focus a clear, simple intent to achieve something specific in your dream state. Try going to bed with the intention to remember your dream upon waking, and then write down any details you can remember.
Becoming more aware in your dreams will vastly improve your understanding of your subconscious mind over time, because the actions you take in your dream are non-intellectual for the most part, unless you become lucid.

Sometimes
youtube.com/watch?v=fb_IYsaXwXg

youtube.com/watch?v=HQY11LdM7vA

user. Consider this shocking fact:

Dreams are as real as your subjective experience during waking coinsciousness is.

Both are models of the world your brain constructs. Dream model is driven completely by memory and default mode activity, instead of awake model which is driven by both this and constant outside sensory input that steer behavior.

This is why
1. There indeed gan be continuity of dream worlds, just like there is continuity of thoughts when you wake up or are doing any other activity awake. So, especially when past dreams left an impression on you and you've ruminated over it after waking up, chances are there is a strong neuronal pattern that can be activated once again bringing you back tot his particular world (which might be permutated, but nonetheless bears much resemblance).

2. It's not neurons firing randomly. Neurons don't just 'fire' randomly. You build memories during sleep, you're just not aware of it in the same way you are aware of your subjective experience (unless you go lucid).

3. That's called hypnogagic state, where the brains entropy and criticality shifts from external to internal. That's why you have enhanced access to your inner world, start hallucinating and slowly fall asleep. Rather similar to psychedelic state.

This is coming from someone who doubted Jesus was the way for spirituality.
Your motivations are selfish and misguided. You do reap what you sow.

Set your heart free, user. Christ is the truth. You won't begin to learn until you learn to fear God.

Stop smoking weed

Im not sure Jesus wasnt a re-telling of the Horus story. Im not sure if Jesus was gods son. Im not sure if Jesus was a man who had "christ consciousness", or what alchemists were really chasing when looking for the philosophers stone, the pureness of thought, clarity of mind, connection with the universe. Im not sure if Jesus was literally the next step in human evolution, a 46+2 with the power to heal, basically a demi god to us.
I look at the bible and all religious books, I dont treat them as works of fiction, I treat them as allegorical. I have found too much deep information in them to discount them, but I dont think its always as literal as some people take it. Anyway I dont need to be preached to, im not uneducated, I am looking for true information from people who have actually looked in themselves.

I'm pretty sure I realized I was dreaming a couple of times, resulting in almost total control of my innerspace and a feeling of euphoria during.
I woke up well rested and happy.

Typical religious ideologue. Anyone who does it differently is doing it wrong. Attempting to balance your spiritual awareness is the farthest thing from selfish, and unlike you, OP is trying to do so without the "teachings" of your sky-daddy. Whether or not you realize it, the separation you see between you and Christ is non-existent, and the belief in separation is causing you to miss the point of this experiment.

Last night my relationship with Adolph took a turn for the worse and he decided I was to be executed by him personally. I’m not lucid in my dreams but I have a great conscious awareness. I can still vividly remember him pulling the trigger and me dropping to the ground thinking if I felt ready to die yet. Not the first time I’ve died in my dreams but man it’s becoming worse because it seems more real every time it happens.

Fear is for the lost. Only by discarding fear can you be truly free. You will never be great if you live your life in accordance with fear.

Once I dreamed one time that the ocean was in the sky, and nothing we thought was the way it is.

You guys gotta go back to facebook

See I am not remembering ANYTHING at the moment, not even a little upon waking up. I would like to re-open that window to my subconscious mind so I can see where its at. For awhile I was taking my lack of dream recollection to mean my subconscious was peaceful, not having any dramatic problems it was wrestling with which came out. Now I am worried there are things there that I just might not be seeing because I have kind of shut that window.

Maybe old Adolf is trying to tell you to focus on the present, and not the past.

try taking melatonin and/or zinc before you go to bed

How many different versions of the truth are there?

fuck off Austria

Don't worry, you'll awaken at the rate you're supposed to. I'm in a similar boat, but I recongize that unlearning and retraining take time. Don't force it, just keep it as a priority in your mind, absent of stress. There are actually more and more online resources for this type of thing each year, so it's a good time to be picking this up.

Attached: 1524096852665.jpg (400x400, 52K)

It was not, Zeitgeist has been debunked, all of the Horus crap came from New Age authors wanting to discredit Christianity. There are no actual academic sources used whatsoever in that movie.

I know Jesus is real, not only because of the Bible, but also because I have personally been filled with the Holy Spirit, and I've seen countless people healed in front of my eyes. I have prayed for strangers who have been healed. I've seen people get out of wheelchairs. I've seen people delivered from demons.

user, I tell you this because I love you, I've seen the power of God, it's so real, I'm not lying to you, it's the truth! God is so real, and so alive, what reason do I have to be lying to you my friend?

If you look in Youtube, you'll find plenty of testimonies. Sure that some might be fake, but that goes with everything, you'll learn to discern between the real and the fake, and the real outnumbers the fake by far.

"For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power."

I find it fascinating how I can dream just 20 minutes in the real world, and it'll feel like....hours upon HOURS passed in the dream world

Furthermore, how some dreams feel 100% authentic, with no discernable difference.

What else....

Deja vu

Dreams where you physically FEEL what's happening.....And how your brain can replicate that feeling by itself

We probably won't understand dreams truly in my lifetime

This. Everything you experience is filtered through your brain first. Your whole reality is merely your brain's interpretation. Philosophically this means that dreams are just as "real" as your waking life.

>We probably won't understand dreams truly in my lifetime

I often wonder if understanding dreams requires understanding consciousness itself, or vice versa.

Just take psychedelics once, lie still for 3 hours with eyes closed and music and you will instantly see how brains are capable of constructing accurate dream worlds.
