I guess it's got to do with how easy it is to acquire the taste for such things. I drink and smoke often and have used many substances (many of which I'm not proud of) which have left me up the proverbial creek without the proverbial paddle. I'm not putting you down for not finding interest in alcohol or whatever, but I've also been spiritual and lost the understanding for people who never tried anything at the least. Honestly seems like different things for different people I guess, but I feel like I've gone to far out there to really understand people who remain sober for the entirely of their lives. For me I think it has to do with my background of being around substance use of some kind for my whole life.
