Going to kill myself since I can't find perfect headphones for an affordable price

Been spending the last week reading every review and searching Amazon and eBay listings. Every time I think I've decided on the perfect pair for me, I read a comment that ruins it. Then I realize I need to learn more in order to make a more informed decision and there is so much to learn. The Sennheiser HD598 was my first choice, but now I'm seeing that people say there is weak bass. I want something extremely comfy and they were rated at the top of the comfort list on some lists. That's one of my top concerns. Comfort and noise cancelling so I can live in my own comfortable world without hearing stuff outside or letting the music leak.

i have 558s and these are amazing

First people were saying "kys" constantly, and now it's just "I'm going to kill myself because (minor inconvenience or setback)." You zoomers are a fucking meme.

hd 6xx

instead of spending money on shitty headphones, use it to see a psychologist. you suffer from OCD and autism

Fuck them. I want to listen to music, audiobooks and guided meditation and I can't have the sessions interrupted by discomfort or discontent with the sound. I'm sick of low quality sound and hurting my ears with earbuds.

Ok Im going to solve your pathetic problem by telling you the cheapest, best pair of headphones under 60$.

If you can, go to a store and try some on. Online reviews can only get you so far.

Complete shutin for 14 years

I own a pair of Sennheiser HD 558s and they're great. They're very comfortable, even when worn all day every day.

Then just get some and be done with it. Or kill yourself, I don't really care either way

Do you feel let down with the sound when listening to any type of music?

B-Buy these...

If you are a shut in why does sound isolation matter? Do you have noisy neighbors or parents? Also what type of music do you listen to? Some people complain about weak bass but they want a lot of fucking bass in their headphones. I've heard complaints about weak bass in my headphones yet I find them absolutely fine

No. There are certainly better headphones out there but considering how cheap these ones are they're fantastic.

Spend a bit extra and get those new fiio iems. Rh5 or something

Do you know how they compare to Sennheiser HD280? That's the only other Sennheiser I ever used.

Do you prefer velour or pleather covers?

No. Just buy them. They're good.

I have HD 558s and they let all the environmental noise in. I can't listen to my music loud enough to block out my family's loud conversations.

I want to be able to block out the noise of people talking and the tv sounds and I don't want people to be able to hear what I'm listening to or even tell that I'm listening to anything. I would also use them for plugging into a keyboard.

I like 60s and 70s rock, folk music, classical instrumental and choral music

Some DJ guy I knew years ago got these custom inner-ear headphones made for himself. It requires a mould of your ears and it was really expensive. He treated them like as if they were made of Platinum. They were noise cancelling enough they were like super earplugs. The reason was that he needed it to be quiet enough on stage that he could listen to the intracacies of his mixing without damaging the top-end of his hearing for decades to come. That's the level you're trying to achieve with your headphones as far as I can tell.
Remember that affordable (or any) headphones don't last forever. Especially if you use them constantly. Be ok with the compromise, and think of it as an investment towards your next pair 5-10 years down the line. Just pick one from your list that has a good warranty.

If that's the case you should be fine. Most people that complain about the bass listen to bass heavy music and are accustomed to headphones that accentuate the bass levels

Do they have directional audio? I play alot of games and was thinking of buying them, problem is I want to be able to hear when someone's to my left or right

No headphones have directional audio. It's all emulated.
At least for Overwatch they recommend you keep your headphones' positional audio off as it interferes with the way the sound was designed. Stereo is fine. I can still tell when something is above me, or below me just fine.

You can fix the weak bass problem via EQ panel though, i have a set of HD 280 pros and they work amazingly, same problem with the bass but i just made an eq map for them

What's better: Beyerdynamic DT770 or Sennheiser HD598?

I haven't tried either but I have tried the grado 125e and they are in a similar price range and I love them. Just something to consider perhaps

Lot of expensive headphones are cheap. Literally used a cheap philips and pioneer.

I wish I owned every pair of headphones ever created.

can confirm. they have wonderful details. much better than my old ath-m50s. they're not closed and leak a lot of sound so you can't watch porn with them.

That's a good point, you need to be able to watch porn.

Beyerdynamic DT 770

Shittheiser is overrated, they could run a master class on marketing but their product doesn't meet the hype. DT 770's are less than 200 dollars and match top of the range cans from sennheiser.

Headphones are like gaming mice, they're good to a point, and then after that you're just paying for brand or gimmicks, Imho DT 770's are the pinnacle of headphones so far.

>Disclaimer: I'm currently using cheap ass in earphones because I broke my beyerdynamics cable being an idiot careless slob but I'll be buying more beyerdynamic cans once my financial situation is better

HyperX Cloud Core. Sennheiser shit is overrated and overpriced. Sennshit are literally the imaginary Bose sound signature of muddy bass and no highs that people mock.

Sennheiser is a Nazi company.

Was going to mention the Shure SRH440 that I have but then read extremely comfy, they aren't, but they're not as uncomfortable as people say, plus you can get replacement pads for them of a pricier model. For the price the sound is awesome. Closed back but no active noise cancelling, you shouldn't have problems unless you live next to a construction site.

I got a pair of DT 770 (80 ohm) after a lot of research. Had them for about a year and I love them so far. Was a little tight on my head at first, but seems ease up over time. Sound and noise isolation is great.
Some people claim it needs an amp to drive them properly, but not sure how true that is (I use one so I can connect it to my TV).

There are too many options. Rather than risk making a wrong choice, I'm going to hang myself. Haven't listened to music in a week, just researching headphones. Can't fucking stand it anymore.

I haven't had good experiences with sennheiser, I prefer AKG's headphones and it's purely personal. but the best advice I can give it to invest in a headphone amp, even a cheap one.

My personal recommendation, but haven't tried any other "good" headphones to compare. Been using them almost daily for 18 years now, dropped and sat on them a few times, no problem. The HD598s are open back which should mean you'll hear all the ambient noise in the room, and the headphones won't contain the sound. The Sony V6 are closed back which offer more isolation.

The good: Sound quality and bass are good. Easy to drive with something small like an mp3 player. Durable.

The bad, assuming Sony hasn't changed the stock earpad materials over the years: the pads might sit partly on top of your ears, instead of going around them. Might depend on ear size. If you wear glasses this can get uncomfortable. They will deteriorate after a few years. The Beyerdynamic pads are not too hard to swap over, they last a looong time and make the V6s very comfortable for long term wear and have good isolation. They are a bit larger and go completely around my ears.

Also the V6 cord is not removable and if damaged a new one would have to be soldered in.

SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY. ITS WORTH IT.

I use my Bose QC25s everyday for like 4 hours a day. really good sound quality imo. you can probably find some on Ebay for like $100. Highly reccomend. Im getting QC35s soon :^)

ignore this guy the industry just likes to push these really hard. they suck dick.

Sennheiser 58x jubilee are very nice I got a pair about a week ago and loving them. I think they are a massdrop.com exclusive though.

I'm not "the industry", just a guy offering an opinion. Also please explain why they suck dick, I know sound quality can be a subjective thing.

I have HD 599s that I've used for my PC for a few years, I've smashed them on the floor when the cord's got caught in my chair a million times but they still work perfectly. IIRC Sennheiser manufactures their cheap stuff in China but the pricey stuff in Germany. I don't think you can go that wrong with anything from their higher range.

Not the guy who said they suck dick (I agree with you that it's all very subjective). From what I read when I was looking to buy headphones, people said that they were designed for studio use so the overall sound is intended to be rather flat to help with audio mixing.

They made a closed back model called HD598 Cs

I have the HD 4.40 and never had an issue, neither with the basses or with the comfort. Wore them for days, slept in them, and they didn't hurt.

Anyway, just buy them on amazon and change them if they're uncomfortable.

I have these headphones, they are great. Very comfortable and reduce noise pretty well. The base isn't amazing but it is good.

Holy shit, dude. This is exactly my problem while I'm looking for a new guitar amp.

Koss ksc75
Amazing sound quality for really low price. And they're quite stylish. Fragile as fuck though.

>sound canceling
Fuck

correct choice, im currently using them (80 ohm) and bought a fiio amp and love everything about them

Daily reminder that prolonged use of headphones and earbuds cause ear canal infections.
