Was looking for a literature forum.
There aren't any good ones and /lit/ is shit but it was better than nothing.
That was the year I was supposed to get my life back on track. It was my last chance at a successful semester at uni before I'd get kicked out. I ended up discovering Jow Forums at the beginning of the semester and then not leaving my apartment for like 4 months. Totally failed all my classes and dropped out. Now I'm 30 and living at home with my mom and still here. Great site.

10 years ago. My brother told me about it. Lurked /b/ until about 2010 or 2011 and moved to /v/ until around gamergate happened. Then i started coming to Jow Forums and occasionally go to /ck/ to look at food related shitposts when im bored.

I came here in 2016 from reddit and youtube videos

around 2010 I came for /b/ I think because of anime, stayed for the porn and general degeneracy, left around 2014 and I'm visiting now not as frequently.

I first heard of Jow Forums in 2010 when that girl who threw puppies into a river got tracked down by /b/. I went there out of curiosity, but didn't get it and left. A couple months later in 2011, I told my cousin about it. Turns out that he was on /b/ a bunch, and showed me how the site works. I stayed on /b/ for the first 6 months or so, then went to mostly /v/ for a few years, and finally settled here on Jow Forums mostly since then.

I didn't know what /b/ was so I looked it up and that's was the beginning of the end for me.

Parents blocked adult content on the internet so I had to use m ingenuity to find porn a la Jow Forums and reddit (Porn on there wasn't blocked)

about 5-6 years ago, came for /b/ epic memes and stayed for this board and vg.
desu I didn't even speak english when I first started browsing I just liked looking at funny gifs

Altough i wouldnt consider those people friends.

I dont remember how exactly. It was about right at the end of 2015 and the beginning of 2016. Thats also when i started lifting too but that affected this later on when I found Jow Forums.
I think I saw someone on like Imgur or something post a greentext a few times and I looked for a source and came here, I almost immediately ditched other media sites after that. R9K has forever been my home board.
