That's about it really.

>dog

>your pets
Guinea pigs.
>the benefits and drawbacks of owning said pets
- not quite as affectionate as cats or dogs
- dumb. like, really fuckin dumb.
- they pee on you sometimes (although that behavior dies out after some time)
+ they remain cute forever
+ quiet; they only squeak when they want food
+ they live in a cage and don't destroy things or steal your food, but also don't get annoyed by any amount of handling.
+ couch potatoes. don't require much activity or exercise.
+ you get to watch meat eater NPCs get pissy and threaten to call animal control when you tell them you raise your pets on a vegan diet

i had a guinea pig one time and he was actually really loud and messy.
he screamed all fucking night and smashed shit in his cage.

Rat
>Benefits
all the benefits of a dog but you can also just put them in your pocket and take them in public
>drawbacks
they only live for 2 years on average and they are pron to tumors.

Attached: cute rat 4.jpg (640x480, 67K)

>cat, a very active one
>good side
>he cute
>can cuddle with him
>downsides
>he's a complete fucking douchebag when he wants to
>goes full autismo at 6 am and I have to let him outside if I wanna sleep

Did he live alone? Because if that's the case he might've been screaming for attention.
You have to get 2 or more, otherwise they will literally go insane.

Oh fuck, I didn't know that
yeah he did live alone. not to be mean but what a fucking terrible pet.

>Chihuahua, female
Nice and quiet, she asks to go outside, nit a bitch like the rest of the Chihuahuas I've met.
Sometimes shits on the carpet like a cunt
Not sure if this is a drawback or not but will eat messes like rabbit shit and spilled food

>Mutt cat long-haired and black/brown, male
Cuddly as fuck, lapcat, likes to be pet, instead of begging for food, begs for pets
Has dreads in his back, doesn't clean himself, we have to shave his back now

>Rabbit, grey, male
Cute, loves his human mama more than me, likes to explore the bed
Drinks like a motherfucker, poos and pisses the bed, don't know him enough to tell you more about him

If you have three cute pets and a wife/gf (I assume), what brings you to r9k?

Nah, if you get two it's god-tier, especially if they're friendly with one another. They're quiet, they keep each other company, they only eat fruits and veggies (and hay), they like to cuddle with you but won't annoy you with their clinginess.
They're perfect imo

Sorry, by mama I mean my literal mother. The Chihuahua and rabbit are my mother's, dread cat is pretty much mine. I come to r9k because my two only friends are a cat and my chad brother.

Dog
>good companion
>would follow me anywhere
>always happy and willing to play
>soft, warm, and cuddly
>does goofy amusing things

>likes to bark and seemingly anything
>stubborn when it comes to barking
>always hungry. Will eat your food if left within reach
>begs for food while you're eating
>play bites too hard sometimes because retarded
>rude with visitors (too friendly and obnoxious unless visitor is a big dog lover)

>12 dogs

Pros
>Secure property
>coyotes dare not step foot on this land
>rabbits have no power here
>fertilizer aplenty for my compost
>always warm
>nobody steps foot on my property period

Cons
>12 dogs
>have to sweep and mop a minimum of 3 times a day
>dog hair is my reality even though only one is long haired
>female heat means everybody tries to kill everybody
>had to spend $1200 getting all females spayed this year
>$1000 on kennels that only house half the dogs
>$600 in vet bills from dog fights caused by heat cycles
>go through 200lbs of dog food a month.. minimum
>can never leave home for more than a day
>howling chains
>barking
>feels like I live in an animal shelter
>no couches or recliners because dogs eat them
>when they manage to escape my 6 foot fence I am stuck chasing an entire pack of dogs

We all manage somehow. I'm afraid to calculate how much I spend monthly on cleaning supplies to ensure my home does not smell like a zoo.

can i habe a doggy pls

I like this guy. he knows where its at, rats and mice are good pets, had one in like elementary school and was so attached to him I buried him. or atleast my grandma said she buried him. and when I mean elementary school I mean waaaaaaaaaaay back, like kindergarten and preschool

Fug, are they good with cats? or will the cat maul it to death? I'd imagine it would be fine if the cat was like a new born or something and played with them, yeah?

>>your pets
i jus fardedd
>>the benefits and drawbacks of owning said pets
and shidded xdddddd

Pros
>Very quite
>Is always happy to see me
>Doesn't bite (just sorta licks at your feet)
>Loves falling asleep at next to my feet whenever Im sitting down
>follows me around
>Pretty much trained herself to poop outside when since I got her 2 weeks ago
>doesn't go into the house unless I tell her too
Cons
>Knowing that I'm too much of an unfeeling sociopath to ever give her the love and attention she deserves..

I don't know what to do with this thing bros, I've never really cared much for any of the pets I've ever owned before, but every time I look at this dog it's perfect

Can't help think I'm a bad owner
What do?

>Fug, are they good with cats?
They never seem to bite under any circumstances. They're super passive and not-aggressive.
>or will the cat maul it to death?
Depends on the cat. If the cat is quite gentle, the guinea pig will be fine. Guinea pigs don't generally seem to know when they're in danger, so they're sort of vulnerable.
But piggies are best kept away from aggressive/territorial animals and children who play rough because they're kind of delicate.
>I'd imagine it would be fine if the cat was like a new born or something and played with them, yeah?
Yes, as long as the cat isn't too aggressive and doesn't bite hard enough to break skin.

can't own pets any more; too mentally and physically ill. had to rehome my cat recently. broke my heart.

>dog

>pros
he's cute and we both love each other

>cons
going for a walk with him can be pretty boring at times

you're all gonna make the husky poster sad

2 siameses cats
Pros:
>super sweet and social

Cons:
>DESTROYS everything with claws: Mattress, luggage, toilet paper. Not to mention CABLE BITING.
>STINKY SHIT AND PISS I HATE CLEANING LITTER BOXES REEE

1 common house cat
pros
>low-maintenance
>snuggles with me often
>helped me through tough times
>not much health issues
cons
>harder to find new lodging compared to living alone
>some extra money goes out every month due to bills, food
honestly the two cons arent even that big a deal i love my cat to death and am glad he's been in my life for years now

Attached: IMG-6801.jpg (1210x1613, 406K)

+cute kitten I saved
+is going to help with my mouse problem
+is attached to me
+my only outlet for affection
-gave me ringworm
-walks on my keyboard
-watches me poop
-plays with pc wires

Dogs:
Pros
>very cute and loving
>give you attention
>generally make your life better
Cons
>might do their basic needs where they shouldn't
>really sad when they get sick or old
>taking them to the vet and buying their food isn't cheap

Cockatiel
Pros
>cute bird
Cons
>shits on you
>might flee
>really fragile
>frequently goes to the vet to check if nothing is wrong

Attached: 20181207_093731.jpg (2880x2160, 1.42M)

I love my pup but I don't take him out nearly enough. I'm all depressed and it makes him depressed too. I need to do something nice for him, take him to the park or some shit.

Dog Pros
>cuddly
>playful
>warm to cuddle with at night
>always happy to see me

Cons
>barks when you leave it alone (teehee sorry neighbors)
>begs for food when I'm eating
>have to let it out to shit and then pick it up

Everything about my cat is wonderful except that he has on two occasions brought back half alive torn up baby birds that I had to get off him and then mercy kill with a brick. Actually now I'm wondering if the pros actually outweigh the cons or not cause that really fucked me up.

I just got one of these, and I have two cats. They are both very submissive, so if they do get near the piggy, normally they chase each other around and the pig seems like the dominant one. Pretty fun to watch actually

Pro's;
cute as fuck
don't feel so alone
easy to maintain
cons;
some cleaning ie cat litter, piggys box
feeding piggy his favorite veggys (carrots seem to be his #1 thank god for cheap food)
cats don't always get along with one another

My silver arow is a pretty good pet. I have to clean his tank once a week to keep the water perfect and he sometimes splashes water around if someone he hasn't seen before goes near the tank. I think he might have autism. Had him about 5 years not
