My father came as a refugee, the other half of my family (about 10 people) came as workers from Poland. I also know lots of people who have parents who came as workers from Turkey.

Because to be able to integrate into society, you first need a house and basic necessities covered so you can go learn the language, law, customs, culture and get your basic education so you can go get a job. Do you know what will happen if you just take refugees in and put them on the street? You'll have chaos, they'll resort to crime and any method so they can get a fucking house and food.
