Escapism into fantasy

Any robots here also tend to escape reality into fantasy worlds?

I am 27 and I have been doing that for almost 15 years now. It started with Icewind Dale 2 as I was introduced to Faerun and Forgotten Realms world. Then came World of Warcraft and Azeroth and it was beautiful. I have played numerous fantasy games, including Baldur's Gate series, Icewind Dale series, Warcraft series. I also play D&D with my group every 2-3 weeks.

Fuck life and reality, it's just too boring.

havent played a single one, is that D&D?

bumpin
what about you

fantasy is just too nerdy for me sorry

Yeah darksun is one motherfucking odd setting though.
If you want SS games, better try the goldbox games in FR or Krynn .

I'll stick to IWD and ToEE, sorry

>I also play D&D with my group every 2-3 weeks.
Damn, i'm jealous. I wish i'd have a nerd friend group.

I have to drive 30 miles to play, but it's worth it

I read every single Drizzt Do'urden book. Read the spinoff series about Artemis Entreri too. Loved it when I was 16, but I couldn't read it as an adult if I tried.

You'll grow up eventually OP.

why couldn't you read it?
I know people who are 50+, work full time and still enjoy fantasy

PS - I returned to fantasy after almost 5 year of reading only "serious" books, Steinbeck, Goethe, you name it, I've read like 50 of "100 books you have to read before you die" I just realized that nobody actually cares what I do in my spare time so I dont have to read "adult" books lol

With which one I should start Baldur's Gates kinda game? I like Warcraft and Dark Souls kinda games
It always interested me that D&D kinda games, making your own story, characters but i dont have friends and i just read about Baldur's Gates

BG is worth a playthrough imho but it's not essential. 2+expansion is the real deal though.

Don't get the meme-tier Enhanced Editions though, they add tranny npcs and shit like that for no reason. Just get a mod for modern resolutions.

Start with BG1, it's kinda difficult at the beginning but later it gets easier. Or just choose Easy or Story mode.

But BG2 + xpac is way better, play 1 then 2

Would it be cringe to read Drizzt Do'Urden books as an adult?

nah mate its good fantasy

Yeah, it started when I started playing Pokemon. Then when I got into anime in 2006 and I still do it to this day, when I watch an anime. I like to day dream about myself in a fantasy world with characters from shows I watch. I think its called maladaptive day dreaming. But I ended up dropping a semester of college because I could not focus because of it.

I don't know any fantasy game that has realistic combat though. Magic is fun and all but I feel unrealistic melee/ranged combat ruins it.

dark souls is pretty solid

I tried Dark Souls but want to get into another game because it's kind of limiting in character development. Solid story though.

Yes friend, for ages. Sometimes I black out all my windows and turn out all the lights so that my room is pitch black. Then I light some candles and pretend I am a dwarf living underground. I've written three novels like this. It makes me happy for a little moment.

do you play vidya too? comfy

Yes, but the light from the TV is a little too much for me in the dark sometimes. I haven't been passionate about video games for years now.

Do you guys ever suck cock after gaming? That would be the ideal robot group maybe even eating pizza after cumming

Damn lmao you are fucking pathetic!

the fuck is wrong with you you fucking asshole
people enjoy their game and you have a problem with that

die in your basement you piece of trash

so what do you do besides writing?

Everything good about IWD was lifted verbatim from Dark Sun. ToEE used the same rules as Dark Sun, it's just an all around improvement on the tactical side. (but Dark Sun has a much stronger RP side) It's basically the first "modern" RPG. Every single post '95 crash WRPG borrows its mechanics. Check out Knights of the Chalice if you like the combat side of RPGs too.

i want a femanon to be my gf and read me really bad cheesy fantasy novels until i fall asleep

>95 crash
what was that

I have no problem with it but gaming and getting your dick sucked is golden

Not him senpai but I have a sissy in our D&D group who will dress as a wow blood elf and suck me off

There was a RPG drought in 1995 and the structure of RPGs was altered drastically afterwards. Compare the games on each side of this Codex poll.

I make music. Working on an album currently.
Maybe. I don't mind either way though.

Yeah....
My dad has been running the same campaign world for over 35 years. The family plays every other week, sometimes with others.
Us kids all joke we would rather live in his world.

Because you are all mentally ill and losers

holy fuck man
describe it a little bit more?

right is better, left are just FPP dungeon crawlers

bumpin for escapism

i kinda got bored of it and stopped around the time i turned 30. My autistic daydreaming and writing also stopped around there.

I used to be in a star wars rp community and it was fun. I like submerging myself as soldier characters, be they officers or frontline soldiers. I can be cold and heartless but also explore the emotional side of fighting, the self-doubts when making decisions. But most of all I just enjoy fighting, from the tactical level to the strategic level. It is just so fun and I'll probably never do that irl because I don't want to fight for any existing countries.

so what do you have left, working your life away? god

>be incel
>hate reality
>love fantasy

my life in a nutshell

Translated

Not *too* much, he writes stuff.
He started playing in 77, made his own setting in 79 and has run it ever since all over. When my siblings and I got to be about 9 we joined.
Everyone has 2-5 characters and henchmen all over.
He has been at it so long in the main kingdom he has notes for every single fucking village, all of them. Unique classes & races, and a huge megadungeon that we have barely scratched in decades.
People plan vacations to come from overseas to play!

You definitely didn't play most of the left.

I did not, I have to admit. Am I missing something?
