yeah i get anxious as heck. every week i came back drenched in sweat. i was unable to relax. it's a tough line to straddle, you don't want to get taken advantage of but at the same time failing the test can be very defeating. what helped with my current instructor was that he'd silently mark me, then we did a formal mock test a couple times before i took it. passed second time with him. i'm thinking about joining a gym, getting buff is a vague thing though. there's no line to cross really.
