I left /a/ in early 2014, and it was increasingly becoming shit even then. Every once in a while I check back in on them and it looks worse than last time I left. They share shitty low quality reposts of shit, eat up seasonal garbage and the whole board is generally fucking cancer.

/b/ was my first board. Periodically I check in just out of sheer curiosity, and it's just 24/7 porndumps for children and newfags.
I haven't actively posted on [r9k] since 2015ish, after it became clear that the board was getting infested day by day with posters of the lowest fucking quality.

What's worse is there are generally 4 or 5 different SoundCloud/BC/YouTube threads and each thread has the same list of people, they can't contain it to one thread because they're all too eager to push their shitty music. I rarely find something decent in those threads, I check them about once a month and barely anyone new shows up, it's the same old shit.

/a/ is still probably the best popular board. It is still trash though. Almost every board lost their sense of elitism. It was annoying but it kept drones out. Darling in the Franxx being huge on /a/ was disgusting to see. Although they never had good taste. Remember Code Geass? /b/ is just porn. Nothing fun at all. Although I wouldn't enjoy old /b/ now anyway. Jow Forums is on a constant decline. There's nothing good here anymore. Overall I would say Jow Forums is much worse. Either I outgrew it or it outgrew me. The people I enjoyed talking to are long gone. Yet I still come here every week.

Going to /vr/ is a massive difference. The outrage culture of /v/ suddenly disappears.
General decline in quality like with the rest of the website, though not as drastic. It's just the same 20 or so generals and thread archetypes reposted endlessly.
