Does it work if you're not really afraid of people but just a complete shut-in?

Any answer that isn't LSD is wrong and should be disregarded in it's entirety.

I was on Effexor for quite a while, it had extreme side effects on me - hallucinations, disassociation, panic attacks, paranoia, the list goes on. Don't get me started on the withdrawal.
Vortioxetine is better.

OP have you tried Lyrica? Holy fuck it's godsent. Works like a stimulant, removes my anxiety, improves my confidence, etc.

This. MAOI is a last-line antidepressant, with broad side effects, and many of them potentially deadly.

There is no best drug for everyone. I use Effexor too, though it is sold under a different brand name in my country. I'd agree that it completely changed my life for the better, but others using the drug have not been so fortunate. I would definitely advise psychiatry for most people on this board though.

gabs and Lyrica are great if you're a pussy who can't deal with the real world like me, they make all your worries dissolve but it takes about 2 hours for it to kickin
yup this and gabapentin. it saved my life. used to be a heroin addict. found this shit. and have been good for 2 years just pounding gabapentin and Lyrica. idk if people can get it as easily as I could 2 years ago tho.

Gabapentin and benzos are extremely difficult to get prescribed in the West but lyrica is easy.

Only issue with lyrica is that for whatever reason it makes my sleeping worse so when I wake up I feel that I haven't slept good

im a weird case, very anxious most of the time but never had a bad drug experience (except weed which i cant handle at all for whatever reason)

people respond different to different drugs, that's why they make so many of them. Effexor may be perfect for you but it could do nothing for someone else

You should not get these prescribed unless you are under physician supervision. They are no joke. Also, Effexor is the gateway to hell once you try to get off of it.

It's true, but bad trips can still have value. Last time I did LSD I had a panic attack when first hitting the peak. Bringing myself out of that while tripping balls was like my own hero's journey and my anxiety has lessened a lot since then.
Though It's also worth noting if you don't succeed in calming yourself down you may very well end up in the emergency room or a psych ward. But hey, high risk high reward is always fun, right?

I don't know about just depression but antidepressants do nothing for nihilism, so if that is the source of your depression then they are useless.
