I noticed more tension in my forearms, and I guess that was ok but honestly I'm not sold on them. I'd skip it.

The problem is that a lot of your lifts have to go down substantially in order to use them, because your grip will be insufficient. So really, in the end, only your grip/forearms are getting a workout and the muscles you're trying to work will be left needing a lot more work at higher intensity.

nobody has ever claimed this, it just modifies the exercise. typically involves your forearms more

they improve grip strength, and forearms to an extent, but you can just do grip exercises like webm related, or do forearm exercises
they DO work though.

I got a pair and I enjoy them. You gotta treat them for what they are, a grip implement. Youre not gonna lift heavy with whatever exercise you do with them, but if you do volume your forearms are gonna pump to burst. Since getting them and working with them ive had a much more confident grip

I've had the blue ones for a couple of years.
I agree with other anons that they're counter-productive on pulling exercises - your grip is often the limiting factor.
I also agree that they're not the most effective way to build grip strength - I prefer other forearm exercises (climbing fingerboard hangs are #1).
The biggest use I've found for them is on pushing exercises. Nothing has helped my wrists more on heavy benches (300+ lbs). Very comfy, help hold the bar in line with the forearm.

They can be great for pressing, chins for pullups, warmups on the deadlift or forearm specific work.

I've had them for years too. I'll use the a few times a month. Deads or whatever. I do look at them and think well I could farmers walk up and down my street or what ever other idea pops in my head.
...but I don't. I'll never give them away or get rid of them. They will be used excessively someday.

Yes, it works wonders for open hand grip strength and you can do all sorts of things with it. One of the best investments you can make. But get the originals, orange ones are too big for the average hand.

I got the blue ones from my gf. They definitely give me a great pump in my forearms but the problem I have with them is that that are a little too big for most handles in the gym and only stay on well on barbells. I occasionally use them in the end of my arm workouts to get a big pump going in my arms before leaving

Yeah OP I have the blue and red ones. I used to use them for farmers Carrie's but now I go to a real gym with actual implements and fat bars. They do involve the forearms a lot more and are good for grip exercises but not a necessity.

I just use a piece of scaffolding pipe I nicked off a building site as a fat bar. Works great.
