>Already at page 5 This board really is going to shit. This was the last thing I actually came to this place for.
Lucas Reyes
Boy it sure is. I actively hate it now.
I'm gonna ask the same question I answered last thread. I'm planning to buy a synthesizer. Anybody have any experience with the Korg Minilogue? Any other suggestions in the same price range?
*asked instead of answered When do you plan to premiere the video? Might come and shoot the shit if the timing is convenient
Kevin Foster
Oh, I'm a brainlet. Just had to click on the link to find out when it would go live. Well, I'm not exactly sure if I'll make that, but I'll definitely try
Ryder Ortiz
I've mucked around on my brother's monologue (that's the one with poly, right?)
I don't know a lot about synths, but I had a fair bit of fun playing on it, and he told me it's one of the better ones in that price range. I hope this helps.
Luke Jones
I meant to say minilogue but my phone autocorrected. Whichever one has the polysound is the one I played on and it is good fun.
Matthew Young
AAAAAAA I want to fucking off myself, I can't produce for shit FUUUUUUUUUUCKKK
Camden Williams
Finally, a reply. And to answer your question: no, sorry. 15 hours from now. That's usually around when I'm eating breakfast, so I thought it'd be fun to get a "Saturday morning cartoon" vibe.
Cooper Bailey
Thanks, for the answer. Sure hope I won't regret blowing 400 bucks on that one. I just know I need to buy a hardware synth. Working with vst's just isn't all that fun What's the matter? Have you just started? If so it's not that big of a deal. The initial learning curve can be a bit steep. So you just need to power through it
Sebastian Williams
Since no one is posting anymore and I am desperate to keep this thread up, here's something I drew a while ago. I call it: Birth of a Black Man
Well for me it'll be in the late afternoon but I should be able to make it. And Sam Raimi Spider Man is obviously the best one
Jack Russell
I just can't in a rhythm. I try to design soundd, fuck around witn MIDI but I hate everything I do. So I just end up with s bunch of underwhelming 4-bar loops. I don't know what to do most of the time
Aiden Allen
Interesting. I drew this on Christmas cause I was bored at the grandparents' house. It's called fobnis.
>Sam Raimi Spider Man is obviously the best one >This is what boomers actually believe In all seriousness I do hope you come to the premiere, it'll be great I promise.
Jayden Wood
Whenever I get stuck or can't really come up with anything I either just take a break to get my head clear or browse through some synth presets to maybe find some inspiration. And it doesn't really seem like you've got an idea of what you want to make. Just throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks isn't a good method for everyone.
Bentley Cook
Alright, see ya then You sicken me And I'm only 21. I just hate capeshit
Easton Davis
I know what music I want to make, I just don't know how to achieve it
Adrian Hughes
trippy. How did you come up with the name?
John Cook
Well, what do you want to make then? If you listen to enough examples from that genre you should be able to pick up some patterns
here's my s h i t though i would not consider myself a robot
Sebastian Roberts
experimental distorted shit. analog sounds but pop at the same time
Aiden Morales
Maybe you should start taking lessons or looking up instructions online. Shouldn't be too hard to find something on the internet. If you don't mind paying money, I'm almost positive there will be a course on SkillShare.
Colton Brown
Your stuff has a nice character to it. It certainly sticks out to you. And why do you post here if you do not consider yourself a robot? Do you just hate the weird ideology it has become or what? You just need to practice and learn. Maybe try some other genres that might be a little "simpler" to make in order to learn more about producing, music in general and to have some small successes to not get frustrated
Owen Long
Thanks man. I used to be a robot in highschool. It's 7 to 8 years later now and the board is really the same as it's ever been but the ideology is self-defeating and I believe that the people who believe they're "redpilled" on romance and sex are actually crabs trapped in a bucket multiple levels beneath what I currently consider true enlightenment.
I feel like Jow Forums is a place where you go when you pride yourself on knowing what life is but can't/wont accept it deep down and I'm at a place where I'm driven to not only accept the way the world is without malice or spite but to also get what I want from it
That probably seemed like crazed rambling
Xavier Perry
Draw this shit on the wall yesterday.I haven't decided yet whether I should paint this or erase it.
I'm just so damn tired of this place. The scope of threads that get made here is just so damn small. It's just the same 2 dozen, or so, threads repeated ad nauseaum. And most of those aren't even interesting to begin with. There's also the whole red, and especially blackpill thing. Where people seem to jerk off to how much they can drag themselves, and others, down into a pit of directionless hate and despair.
Chase Brown
how the fuck do indie bands come up with designs for shirts and other merch shit? I'm a musician, not a canvas and paintbrush kind of guy
I made a joystick controlled stepper motor from an arduino kit mummy and daddy gave me for Christmas. Im not sure what to do with the concepts I learned from making this thing.
It's either the punk D.I.Y. way, or hang out with designers-types after the concerts, go on a gung-ho business partnership with them.
You don't need to be Damon Albarn to hang out with Jamie hewllett. Just hang out in your local arts scene and you'll get lots of way of doing not only shirts, what about a cheap yet cool youtube video!? (just avoid the 80% uppity assholes and you'll be fine)
Daniel Watson
Hi. I'm perfoming my music live next week at MAGfest.
I only publish edits on my youtube channel. I've got a couple vids lined up, in the meantime have the lastest one: youtube.com/watch?v=9bkMGaJDGGA
Gavin Collins
that's fucking rad user. keep building, you'll make great things!
Ian Murphy
Why do many music making niggers lol. It takes no skill to download fl tudio or ableton live and make some shitty autistic noise nobody will listen to, take up a proper hobby like art or kill yourself
>Why do many art making niggers lol. It takes no skill to download blender or adobe photoshop and make some shitty autistic thing nobody will see, take up a proper hobby like music or kill yourself
Fobnis is just a funny word I made up It's moreso what's being made. There's a lot of stuff posted in these threads that's not necessarily bad, but it doesn't stand out or bring anything interesting to the table. There was one album I saw here by an Irish guy that I thought was worthy of multiple listenings, I honestly think it's great. It's called what's wrong by bucc if you're interested.
I just think the world needs some kind of second renaissance because popular and trending music in its current state is abysmal.
Liam Foster
I drew this Giorno the other day. thoughts or criticism would be appreciated
I can dig the realistic approach you're going for, that being said this looks to be more like a painting than a drawing to me for how it looks like you went about making it. Your detail on the face and hair texture is good!
However It suffers a bit from a lack of proper line work/line foundation to better highlight the features of Giorno and and the shading is absent anywhere outside the face. There is also a bit of his hair overlapping his hair boundary though that might just be a conversion issue.
Joseph Cruz
He looks like he's about to Muda Muda my asshole with no remorse
I have shit taste in music and can't draw, but good work music/art anons. Even if you're just making simple sketches or lofi beats you will progress to something great.
as an artist and a musician let me tell you, neither is better than the other. but shitty art sucks a lot more than shitty music. everyone thinks they can just pick up a pencil and shit something out without following any rules. but at least if some dumb ass is using fruity loops for the first time he's going to find out that he has to at least put his samples in the default time signature (4/4) or it won't make any fucking sense.
Brody Miller
I used to write music for my autistic childhood story. There's a few different versions of this song, which was a lament for the death of the main characters wife.
There's a few different versions. I also wrote a lot of it, about 300,000 words of prose and about 500 drawings that weren't much good. It was basically imagining objects in the real world as part of a giant sci-fi planet, like department stores as massive industrial fortresses. Started this as an autistic habit when I was little. It was catharsis many times in my life. Trielle was a good character I miss her, and her husband Orion who was my alter ego. He died in an epic sacrifice which I later regretted and brought him back to life, which I regret even more. It destroyed death having any consequence and even though his resurrection scene was badass it basically destroyed my will to continue the story. I did off and on but not much anymore. Maybe cause im mid 20s now and maturing, but if i am, I don't like where it's taking me.
Anyway there's a few other tracks on there from different parts of the story, as well as alternate versions of the Trielle piece. One user said it was pretty repetitive which I get, i wanted it to build but also not be too intrusive, I wanted it to be almost ambient. I was thinking of buying Ableton instead of using "soundfonts" in Finale which is basically MuseScore, but I'm not sure if it's worth it.
I'd explain more but I'm near character limit so if you just search Trielle in the archives you'll probably find the other 100 times I've posted this shit and the story of how she died. I'm gonna lurk this thread a bit then go to sleep.
I'm going to Florida in a couple of days, and I'm staying at a condo with my mom and my dad. Every year I try to shoot something there, sometimes I succeed and sometimes I fail. Vid related is the last thing I did: youtu.be/PXTyVZ7Wal0
This year, I decided to actually come up with a script so I could stay on track and be more focused. I didn't expect it to be good but I got a bit of feedback from some friends and I decided to put a little effort in to make it kinda entertaining and feel like I'm actually telling a story with some sort of structure. drive.google.com/file/d/1gwY0H8uKrD7yCcdvZgHjy4akIxawqEqd/view?usp=drivesdk
Any feedback is appreciated, I know the video sucks but I'm always trying to get better, and I like to think I have gotten better.
Robert Jenkins
Oh, thank you for still posting here. I'm fascinated with your turbo-autist project. It's so fucking extensive. The music's good, the writing's good. The art's kinda eh, but it still adds something.
Sebastian Ortiz
clyp.it/w1iqwc0v hey guys. listen to my little guitar song i'm working on! it's almost 2 minutes. lyrics are still in progress i hope it's kinda catchy and emotional but i'll let you be the judge
Were you the guy who made the sneeze video? I liked that. I don't know anything about Hotline Miami, so I don't know what the video you posted is getting at, but your shooting and editing look like they're improving. I might choose a different font for the text screens, but that's just me. I'm sure there are worse choices, but it comes off as a little too unprofessional. Just my two cents.
Jaxon Gray
Heh, funny that you'd remember that man. Yeah, I've improved on using the DSLR since, but the Hotline short was actually shot using my iPhone. I didn't have a lot of time to prepare but I was REALLY EXCITED so I went and did that.
This is actually what I've been up to with the DSLR since then, did it about a month after the sneeze dogsitting vid. I post it in these threads regularly but I dunno if you saw it. youtu.be/Hgu0ZI-StcI
I put this on in the background while browsing, and I really enjoyed it. Has a nostalgic vibe to it, like something you'd have playing in the background at the end of a movie, the main character driving down the road with the sunset on the side of his face.
Adrian Hughes
Where do I start learning the guitar? What do I start learning? Chords? Scales? Arpeggios? Songs? All I know is a few intros to songs and the first pattern to the minor blues scale Also I want to play black metal, rock, and/or indie
Learning other people's songs is a great way to take in techniques/fingerings you can use in your own songs.
As for general learning, I'd say go in this order: 1) open chords 2) power chords 3) barre chords 4) major, minor, and pentatonic scale patterns
Juan Hughes
I've been so demotivated to record or "produce" any of my songs the past month, I've just been learning Bach's partita for lute in cminor on and off, I've got all but the last few bars down. It's a nice piece.
>Fruity loops >4/4 time signatures >Implying not anyone can do this with little to no musical knowledge
I like the folky vibe to this
I "learned" from 7-8 years of fucking around and building on my own songs, however I'd say learning other people's songs is a better use of your time. Also, learn proper hand placement for finger picking, practice scales, and go through them in various ways. All modes of the major scale at different parts of the neck, practice changing between chords. You'll be shit at first but the more songs you practice, the better you get at swapping chords.
Jonathan Mitchell
Elliott fan, are you? Defo got that vibe.
Eli White
Don't know if this counts as "creative," but I made this little chart explaining the historical decline of Jow Forums.
I should point out that I've only been coming here frequently since 2012, so my firsthand understanding of early Jow Forums is limited.
keep making shit. Find something that interests or keeps peoples attentions more. I thought it was gay at first, but somehow at the end I ended up liking the video. Keep making shit, find a niche, find some way to keep peoples attentions. Make it more interesting and you may have something here.
Owen Torres
You a real one for that, man, I really appreciate it.
Still trying to find ways to make it more interesting, really make it pop, but especially when I'm doing it all myself it gets a little difficult sometimes
hey frens hope you're all having a great evening, i finished this today soundcloud.com/kadzu/shady-merchants it's instrumental ostflavoured stuff. stay comfy
I like this a lot. Mind if I use some of your music in my videos? I'll put the link in the description if I do. I'm OP btw. I think maybe establishing a light source and adding some shadows would do it some good. >actual 3d modeling is hard Of course it is, if it wasn't, you wouldn't feel accomplished once you got the hang of it! How much have you tried doing it? You could end up having a future in it. Sounds very interesting. Why don't you share it with us someday? To me, it sounds like something a character would play while remembering a lost significant other. They're in their robe looking at a picture of them and their lover having a good time in the beach or something. Fade to the scene where the picture was taken. They're laughing and kissing and enjoying themselves. Cut back to character in their robe. They're about to cry. Those days will never come back. They go out to the field in the backyard and sit there, remembering the time they laid there cuddling and staring up at the sky. Then this pic happens. It's this based on any actual numbers? Good shit, as always. How do you plan on separating yourself from the oncoming crowd of artists of the same genre? This goes for all chill hop artists ITT.
Ian King
Sounds really good. Do you perform live, or plan to someday? Also, OP here. My premiere starts in just under an hour and a half!
Jacob Brown
I'm the last one you replied to, but I don't really make chill hop anymore, I make complex hip hop patterns now, its different which is why none of my rapper friends want to use them, they want that mainstream sound which I dont do, also the other chill hop is trash compared to mine, it's all the same BOOM BAP rhythm with a little vinyl scratches thrown over it, a few scattered piano chords, and maybe an anime voice clip.
Step 1 to being different, is to not do any of the things that I just listed.
OP here once again. My video premiers in 25 minutes. Get ready. I also made a thread for Jow Forums YouTubers. I'm going into shill overdrive for this one, because it's probably the best thing I've made in a long while.
it was a huntshow animation then became spider dancing now its like hallucination brodyquest
Michael Scott
dragon pathway
Jayden Ortiz
that sound really good, user! where are the synths from?
Carter Taylor
Well I haven't got a real synth yet but I've been using a bunch of plugins. Among them are: the arturia collection, the korg collection, u-he diva, u-he zebra 2, u-he hive and native instruments massive and absynth 5. I think I've got a few more but those should be the main ones. And if you got questions regarding a particular song I could probably load up the project file and check. I should have all of them.
If you like that shit then I think you'll like my other stuff. If not, then you still may like my other stuff. If not, then I will have wasted your precious time, and I will never give you it back.
