If you imagine this in a 3d space the area of one of its sides is being extended over the length of its height which would create an object with a smaller volume than that area being extended over the length of its side. There are probably much easier ways to explain this but I am not very good at verbalizing them especially in English.

(21/2)/(8/3) = 63/16 = 3 15/16
Total volume cannot be determined because we have no information about the depth of the object.

OP here, I'm not actually retarded, I just coloured the wrong edge in blue while I meant to do pic related and thus flip the rectangular prism to multiply the area of its base times its height in order to obtain its total volume.

since I forgot the word "width" in english and so mistranslated "larghezza" in my language to "height" while the latter is "altezza" and to confuse things further:

prior to flipping the prism, in pic related, 8/3 appears as a horizontal "lunghezza" (length) that can be a "larghezza" (width) and so I didn't notice the error sooner because it then seemed logical when appearing as an "altezza" (height), that I even thought of as a "larghezza" in english, in the first image I posted as if the flipping already occured. I didn't mean 8/3 to be the height at the beginning because I already cropped the image leaving no space for it to appear next to it.

My calculations are still correct based on pic related which I did have in mind ;^)
