Hey friends. So I am more of a punk guy myself. I like yelling, raw aggression, super sonic tempos. and dirty basic production. Some thrash bands I have liked. Anthrax and megadeth are pretty great but anthrax gets too silly and megadeth has too much production. I like a live sound you know?

Well in a musical context bad is hardly an accurate description. I think basic production makes everything sound full, warm and like its coming from the same space. When you have this clear modern production using 15 2000 dollar mics what you get is a sound where every band member is in a different space all crowded around the front of the mix. I like my vocals blended in a bit like classic 60s and 70s production. When they are so upfront they sound weak to me. So lonely and empty while the drums and bass fill up this surgical space in the center and the guitars are screaming at high frequencies with some shitty compression and low pass filter cutting out the meat. To me that basic room mic sound is honest and the space is believable. This is how I feel about heavier music anyway.

This is pretty sick. I dont like the growly screaming he does too much though. I prefer minor threat like vein bulging yelling. Stuff that feel like there is no holding back. The screamy growl stuff feels like a trick to me. A way to achieve a sound without having to work for it.

Man, just got into linkin about 2 weeks ago. They really nail the r9k aesthetic, hits close for those with avoidant personality. Can't believe I was missing out for 18 years.
STELLAR. Yt even recommends Mechina's Progenitor over there which is one of my all time top records.
Extremely fun band, replay value is off the charts. They seem to keep improving with every record.
