Okay so when they started they started as personal experiences with stories worth being told, and now they're either just shitposts, which I normally have no problem with until it gets repetitive and stagnant, and just random memes that makes zoom zoom shit his pants with excitement. I'm a mega autist, so don't expect a good explanation.

To put it simply, old greentexts were setups for a punchline. My favourite ones were the rewrites of popular media (ie. Star Wars) that masqueraded as a bog standard greentext until the final line.
I do however believe that meta posters like OP are newfags trying to fit in.
