First, foremost and most obviously, it's because a man with the same interests in a woman will, inevitably, be called shallow and shunned by the majority of women. The double standard this causes is bound to upset people.
Secondly, and this is only my personal opinion; it is less about what they are interested in, and more about the method's they will use to get these things. When it's about money, many women will marry a wealthy man only to eventually divorce him and take up to millions of unearned shekels from his pockets. When it's about status, many women will trade up their relationships as if they were climbing a ladder, using their high-status partner to meet higher status men, and eventually leaving their partners for them.
