What concerns me really is older men poaching the dating pool from young men. I think pretty much everyone wants the man to be slightly older at least, men and women alike, and the historical record is that even in medieval Europe men would get married at 22-23 to a woman about 19-20 years old. Those relationships can probably be stable, but it's not possible for them to have the kind of lifelong bond that is formed between two young people who have all their formative experiences together.
