How is your Computer Science degree going, user?
How is your Computer Science degree going, user?
Graduated 7 years ago, nostalgia feels
pretty decent i suppose. my guess is I have 2-3 more semesters to go, depending if i want to cram a bunch of units into one semester or take it steady
Going alright but I'm only 1 term in
t. Rustled McTriggered
You're a gay that thinks you're totallvy hetero, and probably you'll die without knowing your true sexuality but thinking you're a legit 100% hetero.
t. Closet Case
I got all my credits done but I need to find a job and the whole portfolio/interview thing is so over my head I'm probably going to end up back at a McJob
Finished 4 years ago. I miss uni. Being a software wagie is mental touture.
idk if P=NP or NP=P
Finished 3 years ago, I would never do it again.
Dropped out after a couple months, I already found a job as a programmer. It's a fucking useless degree, if you can't do shit you won't be able to do shit anyway after you waste years of your life
>friend and I graduated in same year
>he went to uni to do Software engy
>I did nothing and landed a gig doing government drone work
>after 3 years in uni for him and 3 years doing office work (earning 50Kaud per year) he drops out, lands a gig at a software startup
>they needed a support officer
>hire me
>he is junior dev
>I am tech support
My fuggin face when I earn 14k more per year than he does with 0 debt
i dropped out of engineering 2nd year and just did a math bachelor to fill the void now im a data scientist
That would be impressive... if he hadn't dropped out.
I also call bullshit on you getting some government tech job with no degree, certifications, or nepotism.
What about Comp Sci and Eng degree?
And this is why webdev is such cancer these days
>basics of programming:A
>object-oriented programming:A
>computer architectures:A
>operating systems:A
>linear algebra:F
>analyzis:F
>discrete math:F
>>linear algebra:F
Did you even graduate highschool
I have clinical depression and gave up on everything. Will fail every subject because i literally didn't touch anything related to the course in a year. Didn't wrote a simple, even most basic program in months etc.
You obviously don't know what linear algebra is.
If you know how to do arithmetic, you can do linear algebra.
Except I hate webdev too. I'll make SAP add-ons for a couple years, and if I find it boring I'll move to IT (sysadmin, network admin). College won't and never will teach you how to do things in this field, it's better to do some internships, study and get some certifications, and learn from experience
>t. Asian parent when their child says "I love you."
currently failin on my last semester
>have new professor, fucks up the exam twice so hard, that the audit committee has a meeting this month about his future.
>looks like the next exam will be sht again
>another prof gone full retard since his gf left him, now we have failing percent of ~80% for the last exam and he continues.
My fucking average was 1.4. Now, with those assholes I maybe get exmatriculated.
Is it too late for me to learn programming and make a career out of it? Is the market too saturated? I'm 25 and I don't like my current career path.
I have a PhD in it, but I can't stand the field anymore.
P does not equal NP. There's no proof for it, but if P did equal NP, computer science would look nothing like it does.
Got a lab diary report that I need to do for Wednesday, coding assignments went okay, classes start again Monday. Had to do a group project and lab report as well which I finished recently, so I suppose I am making some progress However, I want to motivate myself more, rather than forcing myself to do this work.
finished mine last year, currently enrolled in a Master's in Modelling and Optimization
wrong, if you only know basic arithmetic and algebra, you'll only be able to do simple computations in linear algebra, like calculating determinants and computing eigenstuff, but you will not understand the meaning of the things that you computed.
i'm 2 general requirements from graduating and i haven't taken a course for it in 2 years. I've been employed as a software engineer that whole time though so i'm not sure if i'm going to go back to school to finish it.
Terrible. I haven't been to lectures for half the semester nor have I studied on my own at all. Despite that, I can't really bring myself to care. To be honest, I think I'm just gonna drop out, spend a few years as a NEET then kill myself, because I've really lost all hope for this life.
Got my degree last year.
Still can't get a job.
