[Most] men do things because they enjoy them and want to improve at them. [Most] women do things purely for the social aspect, i.e. for attention. This is why women invaded MOBAs and MMOs large scale but hardly any women play straight up single player strategy games. There's not social aspect to StarCraft, so attention whores won't waste their time on it because they're raised and brainwashed to believe that they should be attention seeking drones and not actual people.

I say most men and women, because there are absolutely women who have hobbies for pure enjoyment and improvement at said hobby, and there are absolutely men who have hobbies only for social aspects (my favorite example are those fags who know like 2 guitar chords and bring their shitty $20 Walmart guitar everywhere to try to get pussy points).
