only if you want, I moved up into the kitchen and did line but when i got my latest job I just wanted to do dish because i'm really quick with it by now and I get anxious having to make food and remember a lot of different recipes and orders. You could wash dishes forever and someone who is good at it will be valued at a restaurant because it makes things run so much more smoothly when running out of xyz dish is no longer a worry

nobody will make fun of you, half the time I just don't talk to people and nobody cares, other times I'm social and talk to lots of them. It just depends on my mood and how much sleep I got before showing up or if I had to work my 2nd job before a dish shift which makes me real cranky and not wanna talk. my best advice is to ignore the voice in your head that says they won't lke you, if you work with them every day they will probably become your friend eventually. I'm gonna take this qt3.14 waitress on a date next week you could even find a gf. Most service staff aren't 10/10 attractive, most of them are average or below average.

A GM just needs to do well enough to keep his salary, while an owner actually has his whole life riding on how successful the restaurant is. there is a lot more incentive for them to act like asshole slavedrivers
