I try that periodically. Then I realize it's 3am and I really need to go to sleep. I've got to get to work early tomorrow, so I'm not going on a Wikipedia binge tonight.

Learning something releases dopamine, the reward neurotransmitter. The same chemical you feel when you see your food coming in a restaurant or you are making out with someone attractive.
I guess you have to want it bad enough, some people don't get enthusiastic about learning or have much passion at all.
