I do shift work at a homeless shelter for women and children. Pays less than Walmart but nightshift is hella easy most of the time.

Well, I was a security guard but it was pretty terrible. Night shifts alone are pretty rare desu, most of my shifts dealt with druggies and violent people. I had a lit of embarrassing moments where normies yelled at me and calling me things like "grow some balls", "do your fucking job" ect. I was tired of being bullied and put in situations I couldn't handle.

My friend offered me to go work up north on a pipleline project, he was a foreman and I'd be on his crew. I went and made 25k in 3 months. Mind you I hardly worked with or under my friend, I worked under his cunt of a "measureman" I was bullied almost 90% of the time, plus it was engineering and me being a brainlet I couldn't pick up the more technical stuff. We finished engineering and all went home for the holidays, my friend said that if I stayed home after the holidays that he still respects me as a friend. I decided not to go back.

So ya now I'm a NEET again with some stability. Not sure what I'm going to do from this point. I figure I'll buy a car and get a part time job to pay for insurance and gas. The rest of my money can afford me to pay my rent and stuff for a while.

The guy was just a dick and I had to spend almost all my time under his guidance. Insulting, demeaning, authoritarian, just hard to get along with. Being together was awkward because there was just this silent hatred for each other. The guy was a mess, he was constantly high, which I get but he would have mood swings easily as I think was a direct result. I'm a beta, verbal insults get to me but I was able to withstand it long enough to finish our main job. I'm not very bright, for all his faults he was very good at his job and I put up with his personality so I could get my job done. Sometimes I saw the good in him but is was very rare. I had a feeling he grew up a hard life which resulted in him being always confrontational.

Anyways you can imagine most people that work up there are like this, many personal problems in life. My friend is an exception, he pushed through until he got a higher position, takes a sort of mental fortitude. I think he has a problem dissociating a lot which leads to a lot of his health problems I was always observing.

I'd like to add I had just got my license before this job. Being a new driver and having to drive a crew around sometimes was stressful and I got 'jokingly' harassed about it a lot. That I thought was funny too, but just anxiety, I guess. I'd like to spend my time home further advancing my driving.

It is when you're building something cool and working under good conditions. I used to make applications that were fun, could work any hours I wanted as long as I got a certain amount of work done by the end of the day.

But lately, my father has found a firm that is willing to work for 12-15 dollars an hour based out of India. They're doing the job I used to do working on the actual software, and I'm running a shopify store importing products manually. I start in 2 minutes (east coast, he expects me to be showered and fed by 9 now) and I have to do the equivalent of menial labor for 15 dollars an hour. Basically a sweatshop at this point. I'm working on a machine vision application in my spare time but I don't even get paid for it. I hope the company does well but I have no ownership and if I'm late he will fire me. It's not so bad but this post is an invitation to get made fun of by all the graduates with jobs making 50k+. That really hurts my feelings. I'm 21, no degree.
