Never had trouble getting girlfriends, always shorter or same height as me. Never got teased for being short. Until the 2010s I barely even fussed over the fact I'm "short". Definitely seems like one of those issues that is blown out of proportion on the internet.
If it wasn't for people posting random slags dating profiles demanding 6ft men I probably wouldn't have even been aware that I'm considered undesirable because of my height.
