No, if not for consoles we would have good PC games, not just shitty ports. It's because consoles are uniform so it's cheaper to develop there, but even the xbox one was already out dated by the time it came out, the gap is just that big between consoles and pc. Most new generation consoles are normie tier, you sit down look at the screen for a few hours or less and you check "entertainment" off the list. Consoles as a concept became outdated as soon as PCs and GPUs became affordable there is literally no reason to buy a console over a PC, even lower end, except console only games.
