satou was way worse to her on the manga, on anime version i understand his situation, he has discernment of his own situation, he turned his back on Misaki when she gave him the new contract because of that feeling of not being good enough and eventually she will be fine because she's young
nhk is too complex to understand, even the author recognized his characters are hard to describe because of how complex they are

Satou is probably the most different character between media. The anime really worked to make him more sympathetic and have a humanized element.
