The phrase means something akin to enjoy what you are doing, but there is no reason you cannot enjoy a journey while still having a destination in mind.

You're right, I don't see words as more than disposable vehicles to get something from inside my head to inside yours. Yes nuance is nice, but if I can tell you something in gibberish and you still manage to understand what I mean, purpose of language has been served. It's an incredibly annoying intermediate. When I say that it is in more of a,"there is no final destination" mindset. Everything in cycles. Any "destination" you might have is a subset of a larger experience.
