The fuck you trying to say about doom

Glorykills make the game practically one long cutscene, and the way enemies glow when staggered destroys any atmosphere there otherwise would have been. The game also makes a big deal about "not caring about the story" by Doomguy (oh, sorry, the "doomslayer") throwing the monitor away in the starting CUTSCENE, then proceeds to shove the story in your face by including more unskippable CUTSCENES.

>doom
Don't call it Doom, it's Doom 4. I fucking hate it when reboots use the same name as the original.

It's Doom you dumb fuck look at the cover for Christ's sake

>completely missing the point of my post
I'm not surprised you like Doom 4.

>it's literally called Doom
>don't call it Doom

The Witcher 3
bleh

Probably Krustys Super Fun House for SNES. SNES hadn't been around for more than some months at the time so there was a limited amount of games to access. Remember reading that Simpsons: Barts Nightmare got decent reviews so I decided to splash out on it at the vidya store, but since Barts Nightmare wasn't in the shelves I mistook Krusty for it. Playing it was fucking death itself, but since I had blown like $60 on it I forced myself to beat it, holy shit it sucked though. Still remember being on the phone with a classmate after getting it.

>did you get Simpsons?
>ah yeah I think so there's some clown and rats and stuff
>wtf?

> The game also makes a big deal about "not caring about the story" by Doomguy
Personally, I thought this was more about the protagonist not dancing to some puppet strings.

>Simpsons: Barts Nightmare
My nigga.

Master of Orion3, all time disappointment
Played the fuck out of 2 with a group of bros, were all looking like crazy for the new installment.. and then that shit-turd came out, wtf.

unironically Dark Souls. boring, ugly, pointless hype.

Cheers user! Other classmate bought it later on, it wasn't super impressive but pretty varied and not easy, even frustrating at times.

In the 2000s, I had a PS2 & Gamecube. When pic related came out for the pc in 2003 my friends told me to get it because they had it for the Xbox. They said it's one of the best games ever. Most of the weapons are shit, the same repetitive rooms over and over again, and the fucking flood ruined it. It's just as overrated as FF7.

Maybe a sequel to panzer dragoon? Remember playing I think the second game in the series on sega saturn and loving it. Some sort of rail shooter. Later on I played a new one on the 360 and it was so mediocre.
In more recent times I would have to say the Call of Cthulu. Came in expecting Dark Corners of the Earth homage and it was just a shitty HP Lovecraft rip off game.

Your birth certificate says your name but everyone calls you retard

The gunplay was pretty satisfying, but yeah, would be nice if there was a way to turn off the cutscenes. One of the big things about "classic" FPSes for me, is being able to replay the levels over and over again, improving my time with each playthrough. I could stomach 3 plays of DOOM(2016), but I don't think I'm going to still be playing it years from now like I still do with the og DooM. No glory kill run was my favorite, but the GOD DAMN CUTSCENES RUINING THE FLOW OF THE GAME. FUCK. I always say, fuck this shit. I'm just gonna replay Shadow Warrior or Duke3D instead because I wanna just shoot shit. Sod it.

Shadow Warrior 2.

Everything about this piece of shit was a dumpster fire, complete disaster. Story was really fucking weak and bad, the gameplay was completely dumped down from the original in favor of a semi-open world randomly generated zones with a hub map to them. They completely botched everything that was good about the 2013 reboot which had a really great and engaging story line with fairly linear levels but they had enough variety to not make it feel linear at all. They threw all the good shit out the window in favor of a ''loot'' system like in Borderlands with shitty 'mod/upgrade slots' for your weapons that did nothing more but add or subtract numbers, a complete piece of shit. Anyone who played the sequel after the reboot would understand. Whoever played the sequel before the reboot will probably think the game is good, and I mean, it is actually okay, as anything else BUT a Shadow Warrior game.

Assassin's Creed. I was expecting a stealth game because I am really into them and it was a dying genre.

Great OST, good puzzle game for a kid. Have tons of fun figuring what to do in the levels.

t. played it on causal difficulty

I read it wrong. Stupid me. Sorry for posting.

ds3
>linear
>le epic fast paced gameplay
>garbage environments
>shitty level design.
>shitty covanants
>shitty atmosphere
>infinite stamina enemies
>shallow stat distrubition
>no poise
>true combos
>shitty hitboxes
>overly aggressive enemies

Its not just a bad souls game but a bad video game in general.

Attached: 24523452345234.jpg (1920x1200, 275K)

I played it on Ultraviolence you stupid nigger, it's not a good game. It's a modern FPS just like the rest of 'em.

I was disappointed by Dark Souls in general, even Bloodborne. I like Bloodborne a lot but there is just something about it I don't like. Gears of War is a linear game I absolutely love but Bloodborne I don't. I think it's because it is a linear game larping as an open world game, but at least the lore was more consistent and coherent than Dark Souls, which I dislike even more

>Glorykills
Wow, I'm not the only one after all. People often cite the glory kills as a positive thing, but I hate the idea of them. It's taking control away from the player for a few seconds and all you can do is watch some boring animation.

team fortress 2
>community is shit
>subpar gameplay
>items give special effects
>characters unbalanced
>players that are new to the game get matched against veterans
>hackers
>spam in the chat
such a shit game

Force unleashed for the wii

shitty bait, you Japanese console loving basedboy

>items give special effects
just get the achievement items doofus

This fucking piece of trash right here.
The hype was real.

found the overwatch fag

Never got that far in thisbgane.
I always had an issue as it would do a force push rven without me using it. Controls were fucked, and I never finished it. I like the lightsaber combat but sucked in every other element.

Saints row 2 back in the day, I watched videos of it and seems like gta 4 type of game but it was was just so inferior because of the driving which is what you do for most of the game, the driving just felt bad in terms of control and physics. It was so bad that I stopped playing games at all for a few months and then when I did start playing again it was only retro games for quite a while

its way worse than the original but I still had fun, sacrificing open world just to have better grafix such a mistake

I haven't played Dark Souls, but I've played some fighting games, and I really don't see much of am issue with true combos, given that they aren't too common and are proportionately difficult to execute. What were dark souls 3 combos like?

I wasn't underwhelmed by definition because I thought the gameplay was perfect, but I've never been so disappointed with a game as MGSV, ever.

I agree. The gameplay was the best in the series, but the story was practically non existent, particularly late in the game.

>It's just as overrated as FF7
>you Japanese console loving basedboy
lmao at the state of your reading comprehension

>the sick ward
>finally think the game is picking up
>gg hope you enjoyed the franchise

Holy shit this, dude I know.

>>Glorykills

I think the reason they are considered positive is because of the dynamic they bring into the game. In this era of modern shooters with regenerating health, one tends to hide behind cover for a while. Doom abolishes this idea by making most enemies projectile based, and incentivizing players to get into the heat of the battle by providing health for glory kills. I agree, I think it can be a little repetitive, but I think it gives a good reason to get players in the middle of the firefight and less time hiding. Still, would've preferred more health pickups in the level instead, like classic Doom, but this seems like a small sacrifice for an overall more engaging experience I feel.

overwatch is shit too, plus im too poor to even buy overwatch. i only play free to play games.

I wouldn't mind glory kills nearly so much had they refrained from implementing any challenges, achievements, or mechanics that require you to do death-from-aboves.

I didn't really care for some parts of the first one. All of the levels looked really samey

>ywn see snake eater remade in the fox engine

Attached: naked_snake.jpg (592x746, 54K)

I'm gonna get shitted on for saying this, but I have to admit, I was a little disappointed.

Attached: 517rixRsLnL.jpg (333x500, 42K)

Is the game still below 50% approval on metacritic?

we have a brave gamer over here boys

Came here to post this.
For almost all weapons r1 > r1
For some weapons r1 > l2 > r1
For some weapons r1 > l2 > r2

Death from above is HELLa easy once you get the double jump though. All you need to do is tap jump twice, get above them, and then melee them. ezpzlemonsqueezy

Attached: 1363303737399.gif (75x75, 19K)

Dark souls true combos are horrible and it really doesn't fit the game playstyle at all. Every weapon has a different true combo or none at all. True combos are not hard at all.
For example
Straight swords true combo = r1 r1
The problem is that r1 takes about half a second to perform a r1 with a straight sword.

Its especially annoying because pve enemies also have true combos. That go on forever. There is nothing more annoying than having two enemies true combo rape you out of health while you just sit there watching your health bar drain unable to do anything about it.

I was disapointed with NV desu

there's a challenge in that one level where you have to DFA two hell knights, or whatever they're called. and its an early level so you have no fucking health, and no double jump. I spent 45 minutes doing one fight over and over again before I could manage to stagger that fuck, DFA him, and then survive the rest of the fight.

You are clearly too young to have had experienced the glory days from 2007-9

right when i thought it couldn't get any staler, i got a boss that was beatable by standing behind it and hitting it

Attached: 1429643280105.png (1000x1000, 837K)

Pic related just doesn't do it for me.

Attached: 51CcAfal2VL._SX342_.jpg (342x309, 30K)

I really didn't like how they changed the gameplay from slow and methodical to spamming R1 and rolls. Really disappointing.

>underwhelmed
Elaborate

Used to love it. Remember the patches and new weapons coming out and actually innocently looking forward to it? Most of those weapons were fine, and even helped balance the game. I look back in nostalgia. Would probably still be playing that game if it wasn't ruined.
I think the F2P and matchmaking ruined it. Or maybe the servers with customized rules? I just slowly stopped playing it.

I used to love it too. I can agree its bad now. Ah the good old days, where have they gone to.

Halo 2 was even worse

the first three thief games are my favourite games of all time, so when this dropped it was devastatingly disappointing and underwhelming. I wish square would let go of the ip and give it to someone who would actually care.

Attached: 220px-Thief_box_art.jpg (220x231, 11K)

I got Thief 1 on gog and I think it's really cool but I can't beat the second mission... I know im a fucking noob, but any tips?

It's literally the only FPS I've ever enjoyed. Can't wait for the sequel.

i've yet to hear anyone say anything positive about this

shame you wouldn't know a great game when you see one

The Elder Scrolls online, it fucking sucks.

Tekken 7 felt like it was missing something. In fact the only recent fighting game I'm having fun with is KoF 14 and I can't even play people online.

Attached: akuma and heihachi.jpg (1884x1005, 104K)

Modern Warfare 3 was a huge let down compared to MW2 and CoD4

steal as much loot as you can and buy all the moss and water arrows possible. also you can make zero noise on metal or marble floors if you tap the forward key incrementally before Garret takes a step, it makes sneaking through the factory areas a lot easier. sound and listening is extremely important, wait and listen for guards, plus you can lean onto a door and can hear through it.

also if you're stuck on the zombies, there's a holy water fountain in the mines which makes your water arrows do damage to undead for a limited time. be prepared for levels to take like a few hours on your first go, the game requires a lot of patience but in my opinion it's worth it.

Attached: 1521383982683.png (484x525, 256K)

I was a poorfag at the time I bought it, always made sure to play my games even if I didn't love them. But that one I played for an hour at most, and then deleted it. Never again

Jesus, combos as easy as pushing two buttons in quick succession sound like cancer. If the combos were hard to figure out or pull off, then I could understand, but spamming one button for a combo sounds like aids. Thanks for answering my question, anons.

battlefield v without a doubt

>even buying it in the first place

>GAME IS GUD BECUASE BETHESDA NOT MAKE

i got it with a console bundle. i didnt really care for the game just wanted the console

This piece of shit right here..bc was good, wotlk too but after that what a shitshow, felt like they tried a bit with legion but man..counting the days until classic so I can no life

Attached: Warlords_of_Draenor_cover.jpg (220x311, 42K)

And thats his point. Thats wrong

actually game is gud because it was better written, gave you choices that actually made a difference, allowed you to complete quests in multiple ways, implemented RPG elements properly, had a better companion, reputation and crafting system, had a storyline and DLC that wasn't complete dogshit unlike FO3, and had an atmosphere that actually made sense for a game set two hundred years after the apocalypse. Also didn't shit on the lore, etc.

which console was it tho

what's wrong with tekken 7, that's one of my favorite games

Attached: proxy.duckduckgo.com.jpg (600x327, 98K)

xbox1x but i want a PC now so i might get rid of it soon

found the overwatch faggot

There's like 15 minutes of unskippable cutscenes in the entire game. What the fuck is your problem?

desu i quit after i did everything in that expansion. it felt like a mobile game with the garrison

doom hasn't been good since doom2 1994 fag calm down, fight me. It has always been just a showcase for the engine, in any generation there were always better shooter games post 1996

good call if you ask me.

I played through this fairly recently and thought it was great. Like the classic Doom with a modern shine.

It was intense and fun as hell on the hardest difficulity. Flying around the map to some badass heavy metal soundtrack with the double barreled shotgun blowing away waves of demons.
I felt the gameplay was actually really well designed in the sense that it encouraged and to an extent forced you to play in a diverse manner. For example you'd have to switch to the chainsaw and use that to gain ammo when you were getting low. You might switch to the plasma rifle for example to use its secondary attack to AoE stun some enemies, before switching back to your primary weapon of choice...etc.

Also the visuals were great and it ran really smoothly. Very well optimized.

half life 2 , not trolling
went from a simiopen world with dynimic events and characters to practically shooter on rails, and since I had 1000s of hours in CS by then, it was easy too because I could hit most things with the pistol easy.
Neverwinterngihts for the party size
Also Dragon age: After a while you realize every dungeon/fight area is copy pasted room after copy pasted room in DA. Another game ruined by EA. and the party size limit was dumb, those baulders gate/DnD games were most fun for the tactical play controlling 6 party members with different abilities, with 4 party members (less in NWN) it cuts down the tactic choices ALOT so each fight became VERY repetitive and boring. Lastly they fucked up the lvl scaling. Something Baulders gate 2 got near prefect. Dragon age set the monster lvl for each area to your lvl the FIRST time you touch that major area. So what you are soppsed to is fight in till it gets too hard then go to another area, fight inwards till it gets hard and go back to the first area. and feel stronger to go deeper but what really happens is a lot of back tracking and a lot of really hard fights (not in a fun way) till you realize how the lvl scaling works [also you can game it by just traveling to each area once right away to set the lvl really low]

Attached: 1517752471307.jpg (1800x2400, 545K)

This is one example that comes to mind.

Anyone around for the intial release of this back in 2008 knows what I am talking about. An unbelievably buggy piece of shit of a game.

It was so embarassingly bad that the co-founder of the company (Funcom), who was also the producer and director for the game literally resigned a few months after its release.

Attached: aoc.jpg (188x268, 11K)

Are you me? Played both games after the christmas sale. Loved 1, and as soon as I got into 2 I realized everything was wrong.

At least it's still infinitely more polished and enjoyable than 2. 2 was a dumpsterfire made by lazy devs with no vision, understanding of game deisgn/combat, or sense of presentation.

>>half life 2 , not trolling
no, I agree with this. I kinda rolled my eyes at the dystopian-future setting, which really didn't seem to fit with the first game at all. That one zombie town felt really shoehorned in, kinda trite even back then, and obviously intended just to show off the physics engine. (granted, the physics engine was a much bigger thing then) And the sidekick/AI ally shit (especially at the end) was crap.

it was still an okay shooter but in no way did it live up to Half-Life 1.

BUT IT'S SO HARD HAHAHAHA IT'S REVOLUTIONARY

That's 15 minutes too much.

I was really anticipating Fallout 4. I really loved the prior Bethesda Fallout games even though it is true their extremely fuckin overrated. I played like an hour of FO4 and havent really touched it since. Something about it is absolutely painstakingly normie. Also its probably the most poorly optimized game in the history of fucking ever. Fuck u Bethesda

Assassin's Creed II, I played black flag enjoying it but still feeling disappointed to the series's hype so I heard how "amazing" 2 was so I got it and hated it,the combat is sluggish and overly complicated and the stealth mechanics are shitty compared to other games

>combat is sluggish and overly complicated

>Parry
>Counter
>Kill
>Dwarf Fortress level complexity

>better written
No
>gave you choices that made a difference
So did 3
>allowed you to complete quests in multiple ways
as did 3 except in NV there were no consequences at all.
>companion
Only thing it did well
>reputation
That was an awful system. It didn't even really work properly. Its about as bad as the Karma system. They basically just put in 3 different karma systems that did the exact same thing the single karma system did in 3.
>crafting system
No that was complete garbage.
>had a story line
A really really bland story line that was so cliche it felt as if a five year old had written it.
>DLC
I only played one DLC before quitting forever and it was also garbage. I played the one set around the abandoned casino with over leveled and fast enemies you had to sneak by. SUCH ROLE PLAYING OPTIONS
>200 years after the apocalypse
>paintings are still crooked in houses
>agricultural technology worse than literal cave me
Fucking romans knew how to farm better than these retards
>People still go to vegas to gamble
>200 years after the apocalypse
Is gambling illegal in the NCR? If it is that blatantly retarded and not at all logical for the setting. They can't even farm past a cave man level but NO GAMBLING IS ILLEGAL and its somehow enforeced????
>the legion is "realistic" and "fits" the setting
>the entire world is destroyed and people decide to settle in the middle of an arid desert.......just to gamble

>lore
I sincerely doubt you played the first 2 so again this is just another case of BETHESDA BAD ORIGINAL COMP GUD
