not OP, but started watching and fuck it gets annoying, but i must admit the edgy shit is nice.
Now and then, here and there was pretty alright. Normies say it's fucked up but it really wasn't that bad.

To clarify, SAO didn't appeal at first but I got into it around the 5th episode, I thin k that's when all his new and naive friends just outright die and I choked.
I kept watching from that point and took all the cutesy stuff with a pinch of salt. I let fanservice fly over my head, especially when I know the story is pretty good and I just want to escape.
