What real life thing is face pulls even supposed to simulate?
Like the gym is basically a way for us to simulate the stress that factory/farm work would put on our bodies.
Deadlifts, squats, OHP, pretty self explanatory, you pick heavy shit up and move it around
Farmers walks and pullups, dips same shit, getting around, climbing up a wall or some shit
But when the fuck is the facepull movement ever seen in real life?

you've clearly never tried pulling a rabbit out of a burrow

>the gym is basically for us to simulate the stress that factory/farm work

It is.
Lifting weights is just a simulation of the type of stress our bodies would be under working in the factories of the early 20th century

you clearly never have helped cows and horses giving birth. The act of pulling the fetus out from the arse is exactly like its like to do face pulls

>when the fuck is the facepull movement ever seen in real life
pulling a brapper to your face from behind by the legs

>assisting in the birth of animals

If the mother can’t birth the new born on its own it shouldn’t be alive

Wanna work on my farm? Won't charge you. I'll cook up some food. Fuck the gym, you need to pay to get jacked by simulating what you'd be doing at my farm FOR FREE. Imagine the amount of jackness.

I think its more to simulate the stresses of hunting and gathering that we evolved in. Not factory work from a century ago .

to actually answer your question, facepulls aren't a simulation of anything in particular, they're a correction to two things:
(1) thoracic kyphosis caused by modern desk-chair syndrome
(2) thoracic kyphosis caused by over-dominant pressing muscles

but we do plenty of assistance lifts that don't "simulate" anything

I think it's more to simulate the stresses of swimming and flapping from our frog like ancestors.

I sometimes think he browses Jow Forums

Eeeeh, I kind of doubt that. The old hunter/gatherers had more slender, runner-like body shapes as opposed to big hosses that you see in gyms today. If you look at even modern hunter-gatherer tribes, they're not very big in terms of muscle size.

Exactly this

What a legend. I love it when they embrace the meme

>assuming we all had the same ancestors.
Europeans have always had more bulky builds to live in the cold snowy environments

then why the FUCK are YOU HERE?!

i agree, however these animals carry a significant dollar value and are worth the half hour of pulling

i'm really enjoying this lowkey manlet joke

This

>>assuming we all had the same ancestors.
If we didn't, that would be the wackiest case of convergent evolution in the history of the universe.
>Europeans have always had more bulky builds to live in the cold snowy environments
That happened after they became Neolithic farmers. Snowy environments actually make people evolve smaller frames with shorter limbs if they are hunter gatherers.

say goodbye to ever eating anything made of cow then

The correct way to scape a chokehold from the front is basically a facepull.
Might come in handy if some dudes got you on your back in floor and is trying to choke you, or if youre a women and are getting raped.
Either way an exercise doesnt need to "simulate" anything to be useful, facepulls are very good for joint health, thats good reason enough to do them.

Typical wasteful city folk.

>If you look at even modern hunter-gatherer tribes,
Is it really helpful to look at people who are still stuck in the stage our ancestors left tens of thousands of years ago?

I only eat food which is fit from a darwinian perspective. Anything else is just killing your gains.
