I just got fucking fatter. I got stronger but I look fucking worse than when I wasn't lifting.
I am giving up on this fucking 5x5 low rep bullshit. Im going to 3x12 high reps now to be a bodybuilder like I always wanted and not be fucking peer pressured into a strength routine.

If you're bulking, you'll gain fat no matter what you do in the gym. A smart bulk gets you somewhere between a 2:1 and a 1:1 ratio of muscle to fat gain, and isn't done by people who already have a potbelly and love handles. If you had gotten lean first, then bulked intelligently, you would've gotten just as strong if not stronger without becoming obese.

A caloric surplus of 250-500 calories with 1 gram of protein per pound of lean body weight. That's what actually gets you strong.

The calories in milk is mostly fat and sugar, and an entire gallon has around 2400 calories, which is probably close to your maintenance, and 95 grams of protein. There's also a ton of estrogen in milk that tanks your testosterone and gives you bitchtits, making your muscle to fat gain ratio even worse than it would've been anyway. GOMAD is what made you fat, not your 5x5 rep scheme.

No it was the routine. I did a push workout last night and got a pump for the first time in months. Powerlifting never gave me a pump. This bodybuilding push workout last night did and I already feel my best growing.

Starting strength is literally one of the best programs a beginner can run, not to mention reading the damn book even if youre not gonna run the program the single best thing a beginner can do to learn about training.
If you were overweight and did gomad or dirty bulked than thats on you for being a massive retard and failing to read the book, rip states very, very clearly that gomad is for very underweight dudes, he even goes in depth in dieting guidelines for those who are overweight and recommends a pretty solid cutting diet. Moreover the program doesnt even claim to be a bodybuilding one, it very clearly states that its for getting strong as fuck as fast as possible.

Did you forget the cardio portion??? If you're trying to cut AND build, you need a good portion of your workout to include elevated heart rate to burn the extra calories you have stored in fat.
