OP is a Faggot

fpbp

aww lil baby can't lift a plate yet?

OHP is THE lift for aesthetics

you seem like you could suck a golf ball through a garden hose. Couldn’t even press 40kg? Little baby gonna cry? Keep choking on cock, maybe one day you’ll realize there are better things in life

This.

OHP + lat flyes + face pulls = god tier shoulders

What are lat flys?

Kinda like lat raises but you raise your hands up to really squeeze the rear delts. Like this

youtube.com/watch?v=iHij7rSg-ZE

Very cool, thanks for the tip.

These are cool, but are they just a replacement for an upright rows? I like those more. Also reverse flies and lateral raises. Wouldn't mind replacing lateral raises though, they SUUUUCCCCKKK.

>not doing the Z-press

Never going to make it

Fpbp

>upright rows
Wtf, do you actually do upright rows? Literally the worst and most dangerous lift you can do.

I just started doing shoulders, going very light on them, just 40 kilos. 40 kilos won't kill my shoulders, especially if I superset it with reverse flyes or face pulls. Right?

I just achieved 1plaet OHP last night after seven months of lifting.

Fuck deltlets

Fuck niggers

Fuck jews

But most of all

Fuck OP

Upright rows target the traps a bit more and fags say you'll get injured, but you can get injured doing anything. If upright rows work for you KEEP FUCKING DOING THEM. I do those lat flyes because they kill my rear delts and they're more run than regular lateral raise (I also look like a massive faggot when I do straight arm lat raises)

you are probably the weak pussy who only strict presses 95 pounds kys.

1 rep?

Ohp is a nightmare for long armed lanklets like me.

T. 6'1 fag with 6'2 armspan

Grats bro, I'm proud of you. We really are all going to fucking make it. I hit 225x3 on deadlift yesterday...real shitty by most standards, but 3 months ago I could barely DL 65 pounds.

I'll definitely try them, I don't like lateral raises at all.
And it's great to target traps, one of my goals for this year is to build up Bane-tier traps.

How do you guys breath doing OHP?
I inhale at the bottom and exhale when coming down from the rep.

I hear different opinions from everyone and can't decide what's good.

That's why we need to do it every workout
t. 195cm wingspan

Four reps

My other stats are

>210 lbs bench 1x3
>297 lb squat 1x5
>355 lb deadlift 1x5

Man I saw Kali Muscle doing a behind the back shrug in the Smith machine on some video the other day. I definitely might try that shit. Big traps are definitely one of those visual muscles that make normies think you're jacked

youtube.com/watch?v=RNxjZSTovXk

Learn what bracing is first, then you'll know the answer.

>behind the back shrug
Oh, I gotta try that one too. I mostly do above knee rack pulls, upright rows and farmers walks for traps.

I'm 6'5 and that's like my favorite exercise, wtf is wrong with u guys

I bet you wear gloves while liftin', don't you OP?

OHP is, arguably, the hardest workout of the big 4 to increase weight on. OP is probably just mad he has garbage upper body strength.

I read this all the time, then I put my numbers in Symmetric Strength and I'm like 22% better than average on OHP. All my other lifts are worse than average...I've got some weird genetic gift for OHP I guess, fucking retarded life to be good at lol

hell yes I'm fucking mad, being stuck on the same fucking weight for 2 weeks now
a good reason to be mad

* lift

Try a different variation for a few weeks. Or do 10x10 at 50% of your 1RM for a few weeks then work back up to it. Don't you dare fucking give up man.

>2 weeks
>I've been stuck at 40kg OHP for three months

DEFINITELY GONNA MAKE IT

Brace your core, flex your lats, squeeze your glutes and hams.

Big breath before each lift. Get into it mentally the same way you would for a big deadlift.

Attached: 1448835184808.jpg (335x371, 24K)

so fucking based

is that 40kg with bar included? It's basically what I'm at, 42,5kg
I'm not giving up, it just pisses me off and I can't tell if that bringa my mood down and fucks up the followijg exercises too. DL is giving ne trouble now again, because my grip keeps falling apart and I don't want to use alternate.
What kind of variations are there?

> checked

I want you to try the Hepburn method to bust through this plateau. You can do this in whatever schedule you want but essentially start with 8x2 (80% of your 1RM), then each workout you add a rep like this:

> W1: 2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2
> W2: 3,2,2,2,2,2,2,2
> W3: 3,3,2,2,2,2,2,2
....so on and so on until you reach this
> 3,3,3,3,3,3,3,3

Once you reach 8x3, bump the weight up 5 lbs. and start back over with the heavy doubles 8x2.

>pic related
this guy fucks

Based and redpilled

my neck hurt when i was doing it last week so i wont do ohp for another week but i love the exercise

>What kind of variations are there?

Dumbbell OHP (seated or standing), one arm dumbbell press (sounds like bullshit but worked for Sandow), super high incline bench press (or dumbbell)

>grip keeps falling apart
Use chalk.
Do grip work like holding the last rep of a deadlift in your hands for an extra few seconds. Also farmers walks.

Alternatively learn hook grip.

This user gives solid advice. Also do heavy rack pulls (at the knee, below the knee, above the knee...ROM doesn't matter much if grip is the issue). and hold that bitch as long as you can at the top.

yea I've been using grip hook (or at least trying to) but that falls apart aswell

Why tho? I was considering doing them, why shouldn't I?

No, don't play around with that shit

What does it say about me that I'm at 1pl8 OHP after 3 months of lifting but struggling like fuck with bench press and squats? Currently at 1/1,5/2,5/3

I find lateral raises more fun if you do one side at a time

Ok, if I feel any pain there, I'll drop them in favor of something else.

exhale when ure exerting

Basically never breathe in or our while the weight moves. Prefer to breath while the weight is in the locked out position or on the floor.

Do what said and it will be intuitively obvious to you and you won't need to take someones advice.

>is that 40kg with bar included?
Don't fall for the bar excluded meme. Everyone includes the bar and the collars if they're heavy. Eddie hall did a 500 kg deadlift but if you only count the plates it's 475 kg.

Attached: 500kg_deadlift.jpg (1280x720, 159K)

i'm the same user, i'm proficient for my weight in OHP but my deadlift is lagging.

as a dyel ohp is one of my strongest lifts so i like it lol

Attached: happy fat.jpg (540x960, 52K)

>threading your own post
Both you and OP are faggots

Based

Too much ohp makes your front delts too big, giving a decidedly unbalanced look

Finally, someone said it, instead of shilling ohp

Don't know if anyone told you this already user, but you're supposed to do more than one lift. Like, you can do different push exercises and also even do pull exercises as well. And then you can do a whole bunch of lifts devoted mainly to your lower body. If you successfully combine all these things you should, with effort and dedication, be able to avoid an unbalanced look from all that Oh-H-Pee.

ah okay
my friends measure it in a retarded way, like they say "ah yes I press 25kg". Then after I question then how it's so low they go "oh no no, it's 25kg on each side. Including the bar? Lol no why would you include the bar?"
Fucking hell just give me the god damn total number you fuck

>Eddie hall did a 500 kg deadlift but if you only count the plates it's 475 kg.

> Thinks a suited + strapped deadlift is actually legitimate

kek

Just started lifting went from 20kg to 27.5kg and have been stuck there for a week now it's so frustrating and I don't see any shoulder/tricep development what a shit excersise to be honest.

B&R

> I don't see any shoulder/tricep development what a shit excersise to be honest.

pls b trolling

I ohp 76 kg x 5 and my delts/triceps are only beginning to look decent

Everyone stalls especially on OHP. I'm a super small manlet and I've been lifting for a little less than a year, I just recently got to 5 reps of 50 lbs DB standing press (so 100 lbs total). I had to drop weight and increase reps and work my way back plenty of times. Look up methods to break through plateaus, eat more food, get enough sleep, try not to stress about. Although anger is how I broke a plateau to get to my current OHP weight anyway, so maybe you can make that work for you too.

And Olifant bar is? (Think about Lotr fucktards before you comment about grammar)

Hex bar OHP is better in every single way, and it’s not even close

Fucking elves killing the olifant bars and making it look easy. I hate those twinks, their whole race is just lucky genetics.

No breathing when the weight is moving. Inhale, hold it, perform the movement, exhale/inhale only when it stops.
On my last rep of a set I sometimes exhale as it descends, but that's not good.
Possibly. But I'm at a 195lbs OHP 1rm and haven't broken a 370lbs diddly. Some of us have a harder time progressing on certain lifts.

> But I'm at a 195lbs OHP 1rm and haven't broken a 370lbs diddly

Almost the same OHP, nearing a 600 lbs diddy.

Weird.

My DL form is laughably bad and that's probably the biggest part.

Attached: 1556132112284.jpg (540x540, 115K)

DL is the easiest lift to execute correctly. Just do Starting Strength's 5 step deadlift set-up and you can't go wrong.

fug jannies :DDDDD

How do I know you’re small?

>40 kilos won't kill my shoulders
Do you understand how human anatomy works? You are INTERNALLY rotating your shoulder. You could do body weight and it would still fuck it up. You're heading towards impingement City dude. Stop that shit immediately.

How do you lads progress on OHP? I'm doing some sort of SL/SS variant of 5x5 but lately I've been doing OHP errytime that is 3 times a week. I've only been going to the gym for 5 months, I'm a boomer, and I already stalled. On a normal day I can do 5x47.5 kg sets, on a good day I can do a 1-3 sets of 5x50 kg (kinda grindy last rep) but it has been this way for the last month or more without progress. Can I do some assistance work? My triceps seems to be relatively strong, I fail the rep when the bar is at about forehead height.

Attached: ohp.jpg (993x342, 48K)

Don't worry about being stuck unless it's been like 3 weeks.

He's not suited

Also is it even possible to grip and lift 500kg overhand raw?

Basiert und rotpilliert

fpbp

So you don’t like having broad shoulders and being able to bench more?
Fucking dyel

That's fucking retarded

Attached: 1556805622378.jpg (960x960, 30K)

>too big

What does that even mean?

>hits upper chest
>hits ALL of shoulders (yes even a okay amount of side and rear delts)
>one of best non isolation trap exercises
>trains core better than heavy squats due to bar position
>Hits the long head of the delt which is more important for making your arms look bigger

If you only do ONE exercise and want to look like you lift OHP is essential. Obviously you're going to do more than one exercise but it gives you a crazy bang for your buck, it should be the main lift you do.

Ohp is THE most ruthless lift

Measly 200 lbs is pretty god tier

>long head of delt
tricep lol

this

RETARD ALERT

Just hit about 45kg, guess it's good when I weigh around 61kg.

what program are you using to graph your lifts?

Are you doing accessories for the the OHP
