Doing low weight for high reps or doing a bunch of bitch-made cable/dumbbell exercises is a lot easier than actually focusing on the main compounds and pushing to do heavier and heavier lifts.

Honestly, I started doing Stronglifts 5x5 because it was the simplest, most straightforward plan with a big following and good reviews.

I do heavy compound lifts and my main goal is increasing my maximum power out put. Past the beginning stage, training for strength requires high volume and frequency, good form, and pushing to absolute failure. The difference is that I'm doing that with over 400 pounds on my back whereas the a e s t h e t i c s fags do that with 20 pound bicep curls and convince themselves that they've accomplished something impressive.
