Got a job at a manufacturing plant working with heavy machinery

>got a job at a manufacturing plant working with heavy machinery
>start next Monday
>see this
>now crippled with anxiety that I'll be mangled by machinery at work

How do I get these thoughts out of my head

Always wear your gear
Read your safety manual
Listen to the safety class
Don't be retarded

>he was rushed to the hospital

If this was my work, my boss would be yelling at me to pull him out without any protective gear

There isn't. Just use it as a reminder that you should be careful at all times. Atleast that's how I feel about it. Every job has its dangers and risks and you should do everything you can to be aware of them.

The best way to get over your fears is to face them. Just get mangled a little bit so you know it's not as bad as you think.

>Don't be retarded

RIP OP

This is a fake article isnt it
WHAM

No, I'm in Michigan, it's all over our news followed by work safety PSAs.

OPAnon, if it spins, keep loose clothing away from it, it it goes up and down, keep hands away from it, if it cuts or makes fire, keep penis away from it.

Reminder that women with desk jobs are demanding the same wages as men with dangerous jobs like this

I worked in a factory with some machinery and hot ovens, you just have to be mindful of what bits can hurt you and how. So don't wear long sleeves around rotating stuff, keep your hair tied up or wear a hat, don't reach into anything that looks like it'll chop you, don't get under anything held up by hydraulics (e.g. pallets on forklifts). The old timers will probably make fun of you for being a pussy but it's better to be a pussy than have 1 arm.

Reminder that women who spend less time on the job demand as much pay as their male counterparts. They never take into account young mothers needing to take months to years off for maternity leave, women typically dont work as much overtime using their children as an excuse, and women tend to take at least 1-2 sick days a month due to their period.

The thing that'll eventually get you is stuff like this. Getting too comfortable on the job and disregarding safety regulations. Never let your guard down or cut corners to save time. That and not being a tard are the best ways to avoid accidents. Also, just like in traffic, always pay attention to the situation around you. Treat the situation like everyone around you is a retard

Reminds me of this thing that happened to me
>worked at a meat processing plant
>there's an automatic production line with saws that cuts the meat
>something gets stuck and it shuts down
>go take a look
>as I'm pulling out the bits that were stuck some retard turns the machine back on
>barely pulled my hands away in time

There wouldnt even be anything left worth taking to the hospital after that right? Hed be reduced to a pile of mush by the time paramedics got him to the ER?

His screams were probably the worst part after falling in jesus.

just don;t fool around

>don't get under anything held up by hydraulics (e.g. pallets on forklifts)

I doubt it was that extreme. My guess is that he had extreme chemical burns, externally and internally, and either drowned in the acid on site or later drowned in his own fluids in or on the way to the hospital.

Exercise common sense and don't trust anyone you work because there is a high likelihood they are retarded.
If something looks sketchy as fuck step away.

>raging wagies get boiled by acid
>Comfy neets sit happy and placid

Im a factoryfag, and I can tell you I have seen some shit. But I will tell you, 90% of the shit I gave seen was the result of someone doing something obviously stupid, intentionally using the wrong equipment, agreeing to do something they have never been trained for, or rushing.
Make sure you have the right PPE and don't touch anything you haven't been taught how to use, and you will be fine. Just don't be a brainlet. Also watch your hands. Most common injuries are minor cuts/injuries to the hand and repetitive-motion muscle ache/pulling.

It depends on the strength of the sulfuric acid, and if it had anything mixed in. Sulfuric aint so bad. HCL and nitric on the other hand hurts like a bitch.

You're not maintenance or a contractor are you? If not, so long as you don't put yourself in danger's way you should be fine. Only maintenance men and contractors get killed that often, floorworkers are pretty safe. Factory jobs can either be pretty comfy or total shit. You should worry about not sperging out when your stuff breaks down.

I work at UPS and I swear like 1 person dies a week here.
Not at my specific facility but company wide. Every week there's an incident at this piece of SHIT company.
Either they are getting run over by package cars in the lot, they get crushed inbetween the conveyer belt and the trailer walls, or they are dropping dead from heat exhaustion. Fuck this fucking fucked up company. I hate UPS.

reminder that women working desk jobs made more money then my dangerous factory job. Also they didn't get tax raped by the IRS like I did.

Oh shit, whats up my fellow brown shirt. Hows the wagie life treating you?

It fucking sucks I hate this company. I want to leave so bad but I just can't b/c I want to eventually use the tuition assistance to go back to school.
But I'm sure they'll find a way to fuck me over on that too.
Also I work inside the building I'm not a big dawg with the big bad browns.
